Just noticed this morning a bug on the forums. The "today" in the timestamp was suddenly no longer in English but in an Asian language (I think it is Chinese) for the post by MicroSpecV. When I later checked again, it was again English.
EDIT: Both times I used the Safari browser on my iPhone to go to the forums.
Your car choice can change from event to event, however within the event you shall stick to one car. Therefore there will be a deadline until which you have to make your chosen car public. The rule's update to version 5.0 will clarify when you have to announce your choice.
The signups for the fifth Open Endurance Cup are open. You can sign up via Live for Speed Racing Leagues. You'll be asked the following information:
Team Name
Starting Number (11-99, 01-10 for reserved)
Car (UFR, XFR, LX6, RAC or FZ5)
Entry 1
LFS User Name
In-Game Name Entry 2
LFS User Name
In-Game Name Entry 3
LFS User Name
In-Game Name
Entry 1-3 are the possible driver nominations. You only have to enter the information for Entry 1 to file a valid entry application. I sort out eventual starting number clashes et cetera and will approve the entry once the clashes are resolved.
You can always edit your entry to add or remove drivers. Please note: It is not possible in the system to remove the driver who signed-up. Therefore it is not directly possible to switch to a different entry later in the season if you were the one signing the team up. In these cases, please notify me, so we can sort this out, like in previous seasons.

To balance the performance of all cars within the classes over the course of the race, car-specific minimum pit stop times will be announced per event.
I don't understand, what you mean by automatic registration. These are just All Time Standings and don't have an influence on the upcoming OEC5, which will be announced soon.
Too bad it is not in the MPR header. If you get arround and test your mpr-body paser and maybe thereby come around to implement features you want to add and maybe even the one I suggested, that would be awesome!
Yes your assumption is correct. I come from the perspective of running Open Endurance Cup, where we're giving all co-drivers the same points as the finishing driver would get for the classified posission.
Thank you for the program. It works really great and I am a big fan of it. I also might have done a bit of advertisment across various discords in different contexts.
I love the support of rational numbers in addition to natural numbers for the point scoring. I played around with it as rational numbers are inherent to the Open Endurance Cup (Nürburgring Endurance Series) point system.
There are two features that might be handy:
Custom bonus/penalty points: In OEC I award bonus points to teams and drivers that use a skin with all official elements. I could do a work-around by using the modify-points options, but if I understand the option correctly, it overrides any points scored in the event, so I still have to calculate the points scored for the position plus the bonus or minus the malus by hand.
One feature that I'd like to see is support for endurance races with driver changes as currently it only lists the driver finishing the race, but not the driver(s) that drove the car in earlier stints. Again for now I help me with modify-points but team standings become inflated.
Keep up the great work!
EDIT: Never mind what I said as first point was wrong, it obiously works
Well, the tyres do indeed wear and the AI experiences damage. If you let the AI drive over a longer distance you will see them suffer from flat spots and punctures.
EDIT: looking at the picture you posted, the car you chose to monitor seems the be road car. The road tires in LFS last very long. E.g. in an endurance race at AS7 I took part in where XRGs were available, they could do stints of 2h30min to 2h45min with one set of tyres. I'm not sure if they had to pit for tyres or if it was because of the fuel. So it might take a long while until you really see the tyre wear.

I understand it also that way. There might however be restrictions for demo users, e.g. what times can be chosen from the spectrum, but that's the devs' decision.
maybe you have spotted the one or the other change here and there about the Open Endurance Cup. In fact, preperations for a fifth edition are underway.
Idea #1 is already practiced in league racing. See TRR's Endurance Pros races - https://www.lfs.net/forum/468-TRR--Endurance-Pros-
Idea #2 should be monitored by league admins.
Idea #3 a drive through penalty is still a rather usual penalty for jump starts in reallife racing. Cutting should be monitored by league staff as well.
The thing with those three ideas is that they need man power on the one hand and are difficult to implement just on the base of pure coding logic. Also different people have different opinions about for example what is a small cut and what is a big cut. That's why they are usually league racing/competition exclusives.
Idea #4 & #5 have been suggested multiple times already.
Yeah... It used to end at some point though even in time trail mode. When I was doing that NDR slalom competition some years ago, there was a need for airio to run, as only the top-32 (?!) times were saved back in the day. But yeah you couldl scroll through that list at least.
One thing I just realised that might be usefull, are in-game result lists that support more then 40 entries. The moment that more then 40 accounts set a time during qualifying only the top 40 are displayed and whoever is slower does not get displayed in the list. One might be able to see it in the pubstat output on lfsworld but in-game that might not be a viable option.
The other thing, that comes to mind regarding the result lists is the size that they end up with that many entries. Depending on the monitor you are using they might become unreadable, so an option to limit the entries or to demand a certain size for the typeface might be helpfull.
EDIT: Just realised a driver in a position above 40 does not get an information about his position in the session. (the big position info in the top right is not shown)
Anyone on discord or teamspeak later for this race? With the whole event taking about four hours I'd love to have some people around to talk to or to be talked to by.
