I can usually get away with driving on servers that ping sub-400

From what I've seen lately, it's pretty hard to get a good race on local servers... but you're really wasting your time with the AI coopz.

Yeah, you'd look like a bit of a dickhead....

The idea behind throttle blipping is to get the engine up to speed with the lower gear you have selected.

As long as you're not compression-locking or accidentally unsettling the car, I don't think there's too much to worry about. I'd be more inclined to blip too much rather than too little.

Trying to drag down the back straight with people racing!!
Really though, I only ever did it on drag servers.... really, truly!

I remember trying to keep my pbs on a bit of scrap-paper

I also remember goop being banned from RSC

Banned?! The mod told me it was a 'one week holiday' :yipee: and to think, all this time I felt special. Totally Rotary's fault, BTW

After about an hour of reading through my atrocious trolling posts  I found the link that brought me to LFS - and serenity

Link

Quote from James63 @ Codemasters' Forum :The best part is it has multiplayer also. Race up against 8 players in this version, awesome fun.

1. 0.547 (oops)
2. 0.187
3. 0.187
4. 0.171
5. 0.187

Average of 0.2558. Boy did this go off-topic
There's other exceptions, too. It's rarely a good idea to shift going over a bump or around a corner; a good set-up will have suitable gearing.

Pot is awesome for concentration too :shhh: or so I've heard.

Probably not a good idea in league-racing though :tired:

Thanks, got 4th in the end, not too bad.

I usually have a really strong coffee before a league race. It helped me in qualifying tonight, but in the race I was a bit shaky.... and I can probably rule out sleep for a day or two as well I guess I need to balance the stimulants and the depressants a little better next time, hehe.

good post NIKI I've got a league race on tonite; I'll try some of those things.

I tried shift-f'ing earlier, not for me I don't think. I like to see my tyres and what shade of red they are, and how much grass is on each one. I just need to be strong and not look at split times in the middle of high-speed sweepers and chicanes

Welcome Would like to see some more piccies of your beast from further back

and w00t @ 300, I think I'll have a bourbon to celebrate (as long as you can find a reason every single day, it's not really alcoholism )

I still jump on for a couple of races most nights. League racing keeps me interested, as do combos I find that I haven't driven much, or just want to be more competitive on. I'm probably lucky in a way; it takes many hundreds of laps before I master a combo... hehe :cyclops:

There's definitely less Aussies lately, though. A lot of the old hands have gone, and as you say, unless we get a really substantial update (tracks + a car or 2.... or weather), I doubt most of them would bother to 're-learn' the game all over again.

There's a heap more cars than in demo, there's CTRA, and it's a step up to S2. Perhaps someone will get use out of it, rather than it sitting idle.

So, in summary, my thread, me me me, shoo :slap:

Bought this for my dad a while ago. He has never used it, so there's not much point hanging on to it.

In a short paragraph, describe your racing philosophy, i.e. yellow/blue flags, passing, revenge moves, contact, etc. Answer I like best getsies

I hear a noise that sounds like an 'Aliens' motion-tracker in the XRR at high speed.

".... six metres man....."

My lady donated her PS2 to the local hospital :faint: All she asked was that they name a wing after her..... actually, that bit is not true.

Get well soon dude
