The idea behind throttle blipping is to get the engine up to speed with the lower gear you have selected.
As long as you're not compression-locking or accidentally unsettling the car, I don't think there's too much to worry about. I'd be more inclined to blip too much rather than too little.
... when mirrors displayed names in reverse
... when SO Chicane was a lot nastier.
... when I was the v-bookie champ on RSC, and was going to win (iirc) an S2 license. Then, they reset it :sob:
Average of 0.2558. Boy did this go off-topic
There's other exceptions, too. It's rarely a good idea to shift going over a bump or around a corner; a good set-up will have suitable gearing.
I usually have a really strong coffee before a league race. It helped me in qualifying tonight, but in the race I was a bit shaky.... and I can probably rule out sleep for a day or two as well I guess I need to balance the stimulants and the depressants a little better next time, hehe.
good post NIKI I've got a league race on tonite; I'll try some of those things.
I tried shift-f'ing earlier, not for me I don't think. I like to see my tyres and what shade of red they are, and how much grass is on each one. I just need to be strong and not look at split times in the middle of high-speed sweepers and chicanes
I still jump on for a couple of races most nights. League racing keeps me interested, as do combos I find that I haven't driven much, or just want to be more competitive on. I'm probably lucky in a way; it takes many hundreds of laps before I master a combo... hehe :cyclops:
There's definitely less Aussies lately, though. A lot of the old hands have gone, and as you say, unless we get a really substantial update (tracks + a car or 2.... or weather), I doubt most of them would bother to 're-learn' the game all over again.
Ok, the licence went to lucasdrifter. Based on this thread and the quick race we just had, he getsies.
Thanks to my papa for being a good sport, although, TBH, I never wore that pink stripey shirt you sent me.
Enjoy man, look forward to seeing you in S2 with a wheel!
