To be honest, you are right. I was in a banger server once for about 30 minutes and I liked it. I just thought that the "bangers" are just as popular as cruisers and drifters. Although cruising and drifing is also for fun
Anyway, my bad, I accept that. But I still support the idea of server filters. Even for banger servers, because it would help me to find such servers more easily even though they are a minority.Maybe a server filter should sort out this cruising/drifting/bangning hatred in LFS community. There is already the possibility of hiding cruise servers. Why not broaden the filter's scope to drifting and banger servers too? That way, the players would never notice the presence of these servers and wouldn't care.
I see it very hard for all these communities co-exist, so maybe the isolation is a solution...who knows.

Gripping...hmmm...maybe the racers are being reduced to a minority, that's why they hate drifters

There are many many threads about these racers vs. drifters arguments, but the reason, why drifters are so hated by "grippers" is that drifting is very popular and there are already many drifting servers. The racers are afraid of being overwhelmed by drifters and would lose "their" racing-simulator. And they would envy them too. That's the same with cruising servers. Concerning me personally, I don't drift, I don't cruise. I just waste virtual resources on improving my lap times.

I can. Unfortunately I don't have a replay at hand to back up my claim, so you just have to trust me.
I don't think you'll keep doing this for very long. I've had this creative moments myself, it will always eventually evaporate. But prove me wrong and I will be the first one to congratulate you.
I have nothing against that. In fact, I like that idea of keeping an older version for its content. And for the record, it doesn't have to be necessarily removed, restricted might be enough.

There are other threads about modifications in LFS, but since I am lazy to go there, I will have my say here (which is on-topic too). Many are against mods for their reasons and the rest is for. I suggest, let's try it for a few weeks/months and see how it turns out and then either let it continue or kill it.
Please don't make any decisions for the devs or server-hosting providers. If the devs allow uploading of ads to LFSWorld, OK. Explain to me, what makes you so certain that server providers would't tolerate ads? They can place their own ads onto the server and provide the hosting for free, which in result will bring more servers to the game. And another thing. Why do you think, that downloading ads will make the loading last for minutes? Have you done tests or what? I have an average internet connection and it takes about half a second to load one skin. You would have to download hundreds of ads in order to make the loading last minutes. And I haven't seen a track in LFS with that much advertising placeholders.
Concerning how the LFS is "written", if it can download and change car skins, it could also change the trackside ads.
Not much of a use for me personally, but since this option cannot do any harm, I'm all for it.

I must defend the mods. I once started a thread in the off-topic section which turned pretty much pointless on the second page, so one of the mods (and IIRC it was Bob himself) who closed the thread. I PM'd him, asking why it was closed and he said that the thread was useless but he is willing to reopen it if I have something interresting to post. I didn't, I was just curious. Anyway, I thanked him and everything was ok.

If you don't want to ruin some serious demo races, maybe if you tried joining some demo cruise server. There you have to drive slow and will get some experience in driving among other people (avoiding collisions, accomodating to their reactions, understand the nonverbal gestures and get chased by cops).
I will be organizing and XRT tournament for the demo racers soon. Train hard and you might win an S1 license. From there, it's only a small step to S2.
