Quote from samoz :I beleive you can, so upload em.

While we can upload any skin we like, it's discouraged by the devs and mods to upload skins for demo users, AND for a reason: being able to use your own skin online is one of the features reserved for PAYING members of the community, thus it's an incentive to buy LfS.

Which brings me to another point: ownership. Do you really expect anyone to upload and host skins you ripped from someone else without giving him credit, and as I assume, without even bothering to ask him. The only skin I'd be remotely interested in hosting for you would be the middle one, as it's clearly made by yourself. You know how I can tell? Because it's utterly ugly and crappy, and I can plainly see that no thought nor work went into creating it. Thus I won't upload it, because I refuse to host crappy skins (at least, as long as I haven't made them myself).

Also, the freeloading and stealing mentality of you and people like you give demo users on this board a bad reputation, so I say that you should leave this forum right now and only return once the brain of yours starts developing a better thinking capacity than the one of an average cockroach.

well, danowat, that might be partly because the driving field is too big to admin it on the fly. when I was on yesterday, there were nearly 30 racers on track, which makes things really hard to overview.

Quote from SidiousX :I LOVE that series. The movie really doesn't do it justice, the movie was horrible, that's a really fun book to read."There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, which presents the difficulties." haha great book.

I thought so at first too, but after a second and third viewing, I grew to like the movie. After all, DA did start the script before he died, and he himself said that there is no "true" hitchhikers guide, as the book differed from the original radio series, as did the TV series, which he all had at least part in creating.

Quote from SidiousX :Right now I'm reading "The Sword of Truth" series, I'm on the book "Blood of the Fold". Really addicting series.

Can't recommend those really. The first 4 books are quite good, but after that, it's pretty much following the "dragonball z" formula = powerful evil appears, hero defeats it and gets more powerfull, even more dangerous evil appears from nowhere, hero defeats it, rinse repeat.

Quote from Bean0 :
Before that I read A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin. First in a series about knights, dragons, warring great houses and all that good stuff.

Oh how I love the "Song of Fire and Ice" saga. The next part is also long overdue, I really can't wait for it to be released.

I also very much enjoy Joe Abercrombies books.

Quote from LineR32 :I've just started reading Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett.

Just finished Going Postal by him, one of the few books I had missed until now.

Now I started to read The Hobbit again, soon to be followed by The Lord of the Rings. Don't know how often I read it, must be about 20 times already, but the sheer beauty of Tolkiens writing still gives me the shivers occasionally.

EDIT: now after reading the thread, it seems there are a lot TP fans here. Nice to know.

for those who don't get the cartoon:

It's an opera singer, which is, due to the gaping mouth, mistaken for a baby bird and thus fed by a bird by vomiting in her mouth.

The text doesn't whatsoever have anything to do with the joke.

BTW, it's "Isoldes Liebestod" from Wagner's "Tristan und Isolde"

Yep, that's right, Piranha Games are doing it, based on the UT3 engine, and according to the preview and interview on IGN, it's will be awesome.

As I need to promote my gaming blog a tad, I hope you don't mind if I link there instead of directly to IGN :P Feel free to post directly to IGN though

Quote from amp88 :Humans have evolved to dominate all other animals. Our problem solving skills, intelligence, creativity, capacity for learning etc are superior to all other animals. The fact we have evolved to the top of the food chain demonstrates this fact. To say that we are not better than other animals seems pretty irrational to me.

I actually don't think we evolved to be on top of the food chain per se, but rather evolved up to a level where we were not dependant on the slow process of evolution to make us fit within an environment, e.g. in cold climates (what nowadays is so gently called temperate), we didn't have to wait for our hairy genes come through by millenia of breeding, but rather neatly just took the fur of species who already had a fur.
So, strictly biologically speaking, were not really the top dogs here on this planet. Most habitats feature multiple predators which are vastly superior to us if we were restricted to the means of attack and defense our body offers, like all other creatures...

What does make eating a dog less civilized than eating a pig? Pigs are more intelligent than dogs, very social and actually quite clean animals, so to me, it seems more barbaric to eat those than eating a dog.

But honestly, if you get enraged over people eating animals that are not acceptable food in your culture, you're seriously hypocritical, even IF you are a vegan.
Just think of it, instead of trying to eat something that can fight back, vegans eat only living things that can't defend themselves. Now where's the sport in that?

That though also lead me to the conclusion that pretty much all of live more complex than singular cells is parasitic, as in it need to exploit (eat) other forms of live to prosper...

Quote from trebor901 :It looks great, better looking than the crappy IQ that its based on and better looking that most other small cars out there especially for the Smart.

Nah, to me it rather looks like a 8 year old white boy dressed as a "gangsta rappah"... Honestly, slapping an Aston Martin front grill on an IQ is just rediculous, plus it really caters only the arrogant side of people: "Look at me, I'm rich enough to sport an Aston Martin and eco friendly enough to leave it in the garage and drive this."

On a sidenote: It is very daunting at first, and IMHO overly complicated. Anone ever thought of migrating from a forum based game to a real web app? Lot's of the micro management that's done via copy and paste (and makes us store the same info at two numerous places) which would be much easier to handle via forms. Also, that way many things culd be automated, thus accelerating the game.
