Wouldn't it be easier to build one using 7-segment displays?
For starters, it will be much less complicated and mobile phone display will be far too dim to be readable in bright daylight.
Did you check that you got power cord plugged in?
I've forgot it couple times and when that happens, everything else works except steering.
All sliders seem to be there
X-axis: Steering
Y: Combined pedals(inactive if not enabled in drivers)
RZ: Throttle
Z: Brake
Slider 0: Clutch
Weird thing about G25 pedals is that in LFS they appear reversed ( goes from 100 to 0 as you press pedal down), but software seems to automatically invert them to fix this.
I'd just be careful with that kind of stuff, first and foremost your connection speeds depend on your contract with ISP. If you have set up subscription for 10mbps connection, no software is going to make it faster than.
In case your connection speed is not fast as it should, remote server you're connecting to is most likely overloaded and bandwidth gets limited so that there's still enough bandwidth to access the site but download speeds would be limited during peak hours. In these situations download managers attempt to make multiple connections so to get around limitations but all browsers are capable of doings this already, plus most servers are set up to counter this by limiting the number of allowed connections per IP.
My point being, download accelerators are usually full of spyware, adware and all that fun stuff.
Microsoft does not make drivers, it simply distributes them via Windows Update. They're just signed by Microsoft after passing WHQL test and do not usually include anything extra, just the device driver.
In this case, they're drivers that Nvidia has submitted for Microsoft and have passed WHQL tests which are required for product to be eligible for "Certified for Windows" certificate which you can most likely see clearly advertised on the front of your graphics card's retailbox.
Apart from nosecone, it looks pretty good.
If you look at that Lola MadCat360 posted, it has nice flow to it even if there's lots of bumps and curves on the bodywork. That Renault's nosecone reminds me of vulture's beak and it doesn't really fit in with rest of the car.
But if that works and looks better on the clock, then so be it.
So, Bernie crawled out of his cave and gave an interview where he expressed fondess for strong leaders leaders like Max Mosley, Saddam Hussein and Adolf Hitler. Although he made a point that Hitler wasn't very good dictator because he lost in the end.
Can't someone just throw this senile troll into a river already?
I think Superfetch is main reason why people think that Vista is a huge resource hog and because it causes some HDD activity even during idle. Since OS has grown more complex and has a lot more features than Xp, some performance has probably been lost but it's not as huge as some think. I've made the whole transistion from WinXp to Vista and now to Win7 RC, but without running benchmarks and recording average FPS for games that I've had installed on each system, I can't tell the difference in framerates. However, loading times have significantly improved due to better memory management. Difference between WinXp and Vista is huge, but between Vista and Win7 it's maybe slightly improved too but there's much less HDD activity during desktop use or idle.
But this behavior is not really that uncommon, it happens everywhere. Listen to someone talk about music and you'll hear how music died long time ago and today's artists are bunch of sell outs. Take a look at cars and you'll see people praising the cars they grew up with and complain about new cars, same deal with computers and games.
Graphics are going to look pretty much like NFS:Undercover, game is going to be released for consoles as well and I doubt there's going to be graphics improvements made for PC version.
CPU usage doesn't seem to get higher than occasionaly 1% peaks and memory usage for winamp.exe is at ~8500kb while playing FLAC encoded media. Interestingly enough, playback for exactly same song in 192kbps MP3 requires 600kb more ram.
In any case, doesn't really seem like a massive resource hog.
It's very simple overlay function, I don't think it has on/off function built into it but I made a simple bat file that copies the .dll into main iracing folder when I run it and then disables the HUD on exit by deleting the copy.
Chevrolet Aveo was known as Daewoo Kalos from South-Korean company Daewoo Motors which is nowdays owned by GM. Few years back they swapped badges on all models and now they're sold as Chevrolets. They seem to be quite popular because they're really cheap for new cars.
Those cars have probably very little in common with Chevrolets sold in US.
You're not going to see difference between 100 or 200fps if your monitor is only capable of 60Hz refresh rate.
DragonCommando: You can spot flicker much easier with peripheral vision than on the area you're looking at. Most new games are real pain in the arse to get working on CRT when they're locked at 60Hz by default, some games (I'm looking at you, Prototype..) even override utilities like Refreshlock and pretty much make it impossible to play those games unless you're masochist. Eye is very sensitive to even small changes, I'm currently using another monitor with 85Hz and that took couple days to adjust, first couple hours being quite unpleasant after using 100Hz for past few years.
I'm pretty sure that any car looks ugly with overdone modifications, having certain badge doesn't make surfboard size rear-winsg look any better.
As for the looks of that particular car, it just isn't interesting or exciting in any way. Styling looks like any 2-4 old hatchback, even with the additional bodykit and larger alloys. But that's common problem with most hatchbacks, trying to fit as much interior space as possible in small frame results, result is just an ugly round shaped object.
The thing is, they've been very careful not to announce new features until they're 100% sure that they can implement them properly. We don't really know what's in the pipeline. As for gearbox modeling, I doubt anyone would be happy if they just implemented very simple model with no damage or clutch slip.
Also, probably the largest barrier of entry is pricing.
So if new car is going to be crap and old one is perfect, why not buy old car instead?
It makes no sense for Audi to make a car that is essentially a replica of the old Quattro.
Edit: Chevrolet and Ford were very successful in resurrecting old models, just take a look at Mustang, GT or new Camaro and tell me they're ugly.
Newsletters are sent to the email address you gave in Windows 7 Beta registration. It's completely automated process and I doubt they have made an special rule to not send out any emails to Hazaky.
Laser scanned mesh needs a lot of cleanup and polycount reduction before it's suitable for ingame use. While dimensions are probably very close, some detail has obviously been lost during the process.
As for content, gotta keep in mind that time from licencing negotiations to actual release is quite long. While it depends on what kind of contracts they have with partners, I don't think it's possible to stop work on current content that's in a pipeline and delay it for couple seasons.
Expire date was clearly mentioned in the emails you've received from Microsoft:
Build 7000 will expire on August 1, 2009 with shutdowns starting from July 1st
Build 7100 will expire on June 1st, 2010 with shutdowns starting from March 1st, 2010
That's probably more down to shader that is bit too soft to really represent glossy black paint and different livery which makes shapes look slightly different.
It really looks like 9600GT would be a massive waste of money due to it's horrible performance compared to newer cards with also very low pricetag. But, if your motherboard is outdated and does not have PCI-E slot, you'll have to go for few generations older graphics card where "performance-for-price" ratio is no longer that great.
Problem with hardware prices is that while new stuff loses most of it's price during first few months, it then slowly descends into ~50-80$ range and stays there indefinitely until stock is sold out or dumped into computers that then are sold to people who come to forums and ask for an advice on replacing their crappy graphicscard.
