Yea, it's only the web interface which is down. I just finished a race that started on 15:00 GMT
Anyways, I'm having some problems with Fraps. Everytime I start recording it crashes iRacing, I've tried uninstalling and changing settings with no success. I really wanted to save my first 1.25 lap around Infineon Cup, it was just awesome to finally break that barrier and even on replay I saw couple spots where I lost few tenths.
You know what would be awesome in kind of bizarre way?
Full grid of these on Jefferson course
Edit: Oh my god, what a race. Just finished 6th on a skippy race with 2500 field strength, slowest guys were lapping high 1.26's and top3 was all in 1.24 range. Also got SR maxed out now
Just follow the instructions given in the mail and it takes you to member site where you can create account after you've pasted the code. You'll have to fill in the details including creditcard info for the first month payment.
I've already extended my subscription and bought some extra content.
Just a word of caution, take it easy at first. I've been racing so hard that side of my thumbs are bright red with some skin tearing off :P
Purpose of that hole is to direct some of that airflow going under nosecone on top of the car. It's not an optimal solution and I would guess that it allowed them to fix some issue without having to redesign new front end which would be useless next year.
Yep, I've been on fire today: two wins, twice 2nd, one 3rd and 5th place finish.
Feels kinda good because I've never been one of those fast guys who run league races and so on.
On Infineon Cup you're so much better off starting from the left. It was second race in a row where Ricardo N. started from the pole but I managed to grab the lead from him before T1.
Edit: Tomorrow's goal: achieve 4.99 SR on road so I'll have maxed out SR for both licenses. (4.88 and 4.99 atm)
Infineon is definately lots of fun, I've been driving almost non-stop. Too bad my results seem to rotate between top3 and last
Btw, just went past 1k laps milestone on road courses
Haha, was few laps into Skippy race and in the lead when connection goes completely down... wait some...wait some more.... go to shower...wait some more...finally it's alive again and I get back to the race, just in for final lap. Run one lap and finish 11th 14laps behind
I just don't like it when drivers are not willing to fight for their position and just give out spots. I used to dislike Alonso but looks like he's actually one of the few drivers who has some balls and doesn't just give up soon as faster car appears in his mirrors. Sure he does lots of mistakes but you ain't racing if you ain't trying.
I just got 80 points for 1st place on Skippy, with nice 0x incidents.
Started 2nd but the first guy was in a quite hurry and jumped the start by ~10sec.
(Next race wasn't that good, run out of resets on lap3 and had to withdraw)
Edit: Just had a Legends race on that Lowe's Legends course, it's such an awesome little track full of action. It's rather lowspeed, "straights" are really short and on corners you're doing only 60-70km/h. With Adv. Legends you really need good throttle control to keep nose pointed forward and it's important factor in going fast, unlike in faster oval it's mostly about turning left at the right moment. Was kinda funny watching people just spin over and over again on corner exit
I guess it's related to browser then, have to use Firefox for iRacing and I don't like it one bit. Could be some settings messing it up, although I've only changed homepage to iRacing and that's it.
I wish they could work on forum software a bit if they have time. It's friggin' driving me insane when I can't add spacing just by hitting "enter". Instead I have to remember to add "<br>" tags everywhere.
Edit: Ah nevermind, it seems to happen if there's any code in the message, such as url or image tags. Imageshack thumbnails break it everytime. I just can't figure out how to use attachments
Not really, although it's definately more realistic than average arcade racing game such as NFS:9873249 or GRID. I'd call it true arcade racing game because cars actually feel like cars and overall immersion is pretty good.
...and because I love cruising around in Ferrari F40 or 512 TR
