Racing online, except for a few whom seem to go out of their way to perpetuate a stereotype, I see no difference in human behavior. 99% of the people I race online are wonderful, thoughtful human beings. We are not as different as we think we are, the only division being language.

I have always pondered why some are obsessed with race and culture; we are all humans, right? Fundamentally, we all have the same ideals, morals and codes that dictate how we live our life, and how we perceive the world around us.

A thought about racism; I have come to this conclusion in how I regard race: we are all one race, if you think about it. To classify and separate a human being based on their color of their skin or their ethnic background is silly and backwards. It is as logical as saying the earth is flat.
My other belief is that we are all, in some degree, racist. The area in the human brain that forms those beliefs is, I think, in the most primative part of it. So, in life you have two choices: you can either think with the most primitive part of your brain, and fall deeper into hate, fear and depression, OR take the harder path, and make a conscious effort every day to fight the bigoted thoughts in your head. The person who says that they are not bigoted or racist is a liar, or in denial of their thoughts. Fight those hateful thoughts everyday!
Imagine if the world started thinking like that...we can then live in peace and harmony with each other. It starts...with you!

Quote from RaDuS :got my civic today great condition 84,000km greddy turbo kit Momo wheel, 200 shot of nos , blue and black atomic series bucket seats, Blue Underglow, Bully racing clutch, 17 inch low profile tire and rims, Dual exhaust. What you think?

(btw getting new back lights they ugly)

Get rid of the nitrous, a 200 shot on a (supposed) 1.6 liter will kill it quickly.

Neon lights do not make your car go faster, neither does having 2 fart cans. Eliminate.

Whoever you bought it from, I hope they set up the turbo correctly. Unless it has strengthened internals, the (supposed) 1.6 stock will handle about .8 bar and that is it. If you are driving, and you see puffs of smoke when you shift, the engine already has one foot in the grave.

I have a new found love for the RB4, when I graduated up to a silver license in STCC / UKCT.

The way I set it up, it now behaves like a very powerful XFG; slight understeer into the corners, slight oversteer out. No oversteer drama, no plowing understeer, just....right.

Try this, see what others think:

Front clutch pack LSD:
Locking(power/coast) 60% - 50%

Preload: 160 Nm

Rear viscous LSD
Viscous Torque 10 Nms/Rad

Centre Viscous LSD
Viscous Torque 17 Nms/Rad

Front Torque split 50%

Now, some may make the "oh yucky" face when seeing my specs, but it makes the car very predictable and steady; you may not win every race (and you never will on setups alone) but you will finish in a respectable place.

Try it!

Set works for all Aston except Cadet and Club.

LFSW suggestion: enemies list.

Ok, so the title is a bit blunt, but as we all know, some days you get on a server with someone you cannot stand, or someone who is alway laggy, or a wrecker, or whatever. Bottom line is, someone who would affect your gameplay enjoyment.

And before you get on to playing, you can check LFSW and see where they are; essentially, it makes quick work of you manually typing in each players name in the search box. This could also work for friends, too.

How about it, Victor? May take a bit of coding rework, but I am sure it can be done.

*EDIT* I know about the "racer and hosts" part on LFSW.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :This is a suggestion for way down the road, once we have variable weather that is able to encompass most real life driving conditions (i.e., probably S3 final, sad to say).

The idea:

The devs could assign each track in LFS a set of GPS coordinates corresponding to a similar location in the real world (e.g., rural UK, city UK, Jamaica, Kyoto). Then, much as in flight sims, the weather in-game could be determined by live weather reports from those coordinates in the real world (delivered via the master server, I suppose).

There would have to be a server-side option to toggle it on or off for each server, of course, because who wants to log in and find they can't drive because Aston is under three feet of water? Still, it could add a ton of realism for leagues and the like.

This is a great idea! Also, it would be cool if, when the weather clears, so does the game. Might be a bit complicated, but if it can be thought up, it can be done. Oh yes, it can be done.

Quote from DriftStar :Hey people of LFS, drifters, racers, stunters, everyone!

Well today, I had a think about what I'd most like in this game...

And what I thought of, I hear you ask?
Well,... I think you should bring the Mazda Rx-7 into the game,
if people like the car, it gets more players:

Fair enough, but the cost to get this vehicle would be alot for this rinky dink game. Plus, why just have a car for the drifters? How about the LeMans Fans? The A1Gp fans? Aussie V8 fans? The WRC fans?

You see? the requests would never end! And if this indeed a reality based sim, who is to say the RX7, which would be set up to stock specifications, like the other cars, would be as good as you think it is? I can attest having driven the car in real life, you have to keep it revved all the time, otherwise it is a limp noodle that, yes, points it nose at a turn quickly but falls flat if you dont keep the revs up. Real finicky, and the lack of torque can drive you batty, being that you are constantly shifting. I bet the car would be largely ignored by the majority of users. Not everyone thinks in terms of sliding around a track.

Quote from Cr!t!calDrift :Not to sound random, but I think that calling people

"Ricer Lovers"

"Rice Boy"

or calling cars

"Ricers"

Is very racially derogative.

Quote from tristancliffe :The RX-7 isn't all that bad on a track. Gutless admittedly, but that's the engine for you. And totally useless on the public road. But I'd still rather stick with an engine that produces some torque. XRT anyone?

Racially derogative? So are you saying only black people or non-caucasian people are ricers? Or do you not understand the term 'racial'?

....And so the straws begin splitting; twenty post later this will argued into dust.

I know I am sounding like a nagging arse, but you need to contact SamH or UKCT about this problem. We cant do much of anything on the LFS board.

Quote from JamesF1 :I love how so many people find it necessary to take Bible verses entirely out of context so they can make it say what the want to. It annoys me no end when people, like the guy this thread is about, take everything so far out of context they seemingly justify their killing and own selfish ends. Just like you couldn't grab any old few words from an autobiography and understand the life context.

Thunderhead, you might actually want to look at Luke 19:27 in context before attempting to discredit it. It's part of a parable... parables are used for illustration (metaphors, if you will) and, as such, should not be taken literally. Parables are symbolic allegories.

Small rant, about context, over.

Thanks James for summing up what I feel, too.

Quote from funnybone2 :i love this course and all the cars that go on it since ive been thinking for awhile and finally decided to try give some HELPFUL ADVICE!

And what car are you going to use? If you want to be fast without being stressed on Westhill, try the FOX. It is almost too easy.

Soon, with patch X, it can be done. It should be done. It would be really neat to have 32 different racers from 32 different countries, racing for country, and not team allegiance.

What would be the best car for this series? FO8? FOX would attract the most players...Uhmm

Judging by the young lady in the avatar, I would say forget the PC, spend more time with her!

OK, well first hings first. Do you run through a firewall? Do you run the PC with a router? Have you tried disconnecting everything internet related and plugging in again?

I will leave it at that.
