Some time ago I came across a website where you could generate your own numberplate image. There was a big variety of numberplates from various countries to choose from. You entered your own set of characters and it would generate an image of the numberplate you had chosen.
I googled around but I can't seem to find it again.
If anyone has the slightest idea of which site I'm referring to, please do tell
So...other arcade games are setting the realism standards now? LFS doesn't simulate other race games, it simulates real life cars. Cars have manual clutches in real life don't they? The auto-clutch is still there anyway, all you have to do is lift the throttle for an instant. You use some really twisted logic there. Please realise LFS aims to be a racing simulator, not an arcade racing game.
All depends on what compound you're using. If they heat up too fast take the next harder compound.
Is it so hard to lift the throttle? Do you flat-shift in your own car?
It will not be restored to the previous version. New tracks and cars will come anyway at some point (a new one car was added to this patch for crying out loud), but the main focus will still be improving the realism. So it will probably get even harder for you.
It all depends on what you do with the drive. Do you often delete, move, create or download (mainly big) files to it? Then it's worth doing it once in every while.
Do you mainly use it to store files for a long time and don't move them around much? Then it will not have a lot of use.
Whether it's a windows system drive or not doesn't have a whole lot to do with it.
I propose to just remove any way to control the cars all together and just watch AI battling each other. Moving your feet and having to turn the wheel becomes so boring and tiring.
Whether or not a new Tweak addon is released has nothing to do with a war between demo racers and S2 racers, that's how you read into it.
The real reason is that any Tweak program has to be approved first by the moderators to make sure it's ok and it doesn't violate the rules. It's just that simple. It has always been like that and it will remain like that. So stop crying over not having a tweak program (yet), and perceiving this as some kind of war.
I guess what a lot of people are sick of is the constant whining and begging. We don't need 20 topics asking wheres the Y tweak, we've had FAR too many of those in the past. It will come when it is approved. If it is not approved then it will not come. You're just going to have to accept that.
And about my/the xrt avatars, it's just a stab at the whining demoplayers that have flooded the forum lately. I repeat, the whining demoplayers. This in itself implies that there are also non-whining demoplayers. I am not referring to them and they should not feel adressed to.
Yes, their moral support is of invaluable worth, and it gives the devs the strength to go on and keep improving LFS. I would even say that LFS would not be what it is today without the contribution of these career demo players.
[/sarcasm]
Seriously that has to be the stupidest thing i've read here in a while. I can hardly believe you're being serious.
Yes, it is basically. I was thinking the same when I wrote it down but didn't feel like explaining something so trivial.
I should have said:
"My new years resolution, like any year, is not to make any more new years resolutions."
Anyway, now I'm explaining it anyway but you know what I mean
I don't own one but I have used one. Sure, it's not the best wheel ever but for it's price you can't really go wrong, then it's pretty good. It's fine if you just started out sim racing. Sure beats playing with a mouse or gamepad.
Er staat toch dat je ook via paypal of moneybookers kan betalen of via een internationale betalingsopdracht? daar heb je geen credit card voor nodig. bij paypal of moneybookers kan je via een gewone rekening geld overmaken.
translation:
doesn't it say that you can also pay through paypal or moneybookers or via a money order? you don't need a credit card for that. with paypal or moneybookers you can deposit money using a regular bank account.
I still feel that any modding should go through the devs in the end. Of course we can't bother them with tons and tons, probably mostly useless mods, it would just take too much time.
I think any mod should be allowed to be released for offline use only. Then there could a periodical community voting held on the forum where users can nominate and rate mods on several predefined criteria. Of those elected most worthy by the community, the top n will undergo final testing and evaluation by the devs. Those that pass their likely high standards would be made available for online use by "flipping a switch" on the master server.
This thorough offline testing by the community will be a tool for the mod-developers to iron out bugs and implement improvements before they are made available online, (hopefully) ensuring that no big problems will occur.
In order to prevent an rFactor-ish version hell mod updates can only be released on set intervals, once again making sure mod devs only release updates when they have undergone serious testing.
disclaimer: The above is by no means a waterproof system and it is not thoroughly thought out, but in general something like this would be the sort of path it would need to go imo, and this of course needs the devs to be willing to take this upon them.
1. It's not an F1 car
2. You don't HAVE to drive it
3. Other people are very happy about the addition
4. The LFS devs were approached to implement a real car into LFS, how many times does such an opportunity present itself? Should they have said no?
5. It's in the demo to give a better impression of LFS
6. Complaining about features added to LFS is really stupid.
Read the other 50 topics asking that same question for the answer.
I guess you were playing LFS for the wrong reasons. If you think LFS without the XRT is shit, this really isn´t the sim game for you.
How would you know anyway, you only know 1 track and the demo cars.
You paid for a license to play a sim that is in constant development and not at the end of it's development cycle. This is EXACTLY what you paid for.
The major patches make LFS incompatible with earlier versions so this is not possible.
Fine, don't play. But you can't ask for your money back for a product which has already been delivered to you just because you didn't bother to read the license agreement (and the license agreement is very clear and very short, unlike with other programs).
from the official foobar FAQ: Does foobar2000 sound better than other players? No. Most of “sound quality differences” people “hear” are placebo effect (at least with real music), as actual differences in produced sound data are below their noise floor (1 or 2 last bits in 16bit samples). foobar2000 has sound processing features such as software resampling or 24bit output on new high-end soundcards, but most of other mainstream players are capable of doing the same by now.
Not a bash on foobar though, I'm a big foobar fan.
It's so funny to see people buying a wheel, but when it gets to the point of coughing up some pounds for a license the "please feel sorry for me and put the xrt back in cause I don't have the money for it" attitude kicks in.
The attitude makes me sick.
At least 90% of the people in here whining that they don't have the money for it, simply don't WANT to pay or set their priorities different.
