But who says noone is going to buy their product if they make it how they want it to Besides, if certain type of players turn away from LFS because of increased realism other type of players will turn to LFS.
Scawen and Eric left a big software house with the main purpose being developing a sim their own way.
I regularly see people talking about how the devs are going to make enough money to live, well they have been doing this for years now so I'm sure they're doing fine. And Scawen has stated several times making money isn't the driving force behind LFS. If they wanted to make a lot of money they would be developing a different type of game. Let them worry about stuff like that, all that doom thinking makes no sense.
Well, sometimes it can help just to write things down and share it with people even if you don't know them too well. Like he said he doesn't have a lot of relatives.
Anyway, sorry to hear it, that's some bad stuff coming together. Hang in there, next year could become the greatest year of them all
Smart. What if everyone would do that, there would be three versions of every topic.
People will see your topic when they do and help if they can. I really don't understand the impatience some people have.
Exactly. And therefore it's not racing. You're either faster or slower than the other guys, no judges needed to determine who's better, it shows in the results.
Drifting is a form of motorsports. But not a form of racing. (the drifting as we know it in LFS). Motorsport is not necessarily racing. Racing is motorsport though.
Racing: completing a certain distance, an amount of laps or over an amount of time with the goal of finishing first and/or as fast as possible. Drifting lacks this goal. Because the fastest way around the track is never by drifting except with rally or hillclimb. And even then it's used as a cornering technique only.
It will work, by default XP has a maximum icon size of 48*48 (this size is used for the "tiles view" in a folder). To use bigger than that a registry modification is needed. I would appreciate a 48 one
Or release a .PNG version, so anyone with docks or different icon sizes can make their own out of it
Here you go, sorry it took so long. 3DS kept crashing on me so I had to sort that out first. Rendering took waaay too long, I'll have to take a look at my settings. After it was finally finished the lighting on the car body came out way to bright so I had to do some correction in PS.
Hope you like it though
In short, incomplete and in no particular order:
1. Great very active multiplayer community (don't take the demo servers as a measurement of quality and maturity)
2. The community in general
3. The developers way of working and interaction with the community
4. Better, more advanced physics simulation
5. No "wrong (mod) version hell" like in rFactor
6. LFSWorld (a web application which keeps track of just about any statistic there is to know about your online racing activity and that of other racers). It's just so complete and well done.
7. Great value for money
And lots of other stuff. I suggest you read around the forums and look up topics which are about what people love about LFS, there's just so much
