Read some recent topics about patch Y, it has been discussed to death.
Short version: putting a formula car in the demo gives a better, broader impression of S2.
Well, Blackwood and South City got higher resolution textures and if you're driving the FBM, that car is more detailed than the other cars. Your video card is pretty old so I don't think there's a whole lot you can do about it.
Did you try lowering some graphics settings in LFS? For instance not using full textures and decreasing the LOD?
Because it's (a bit) harder now. Because the times are slower. Because things changed (some people can't deal with change). Because the XRT was removed from the demo. Because "the world" as they know it has changed.
Yes, these are purely self centered "problems" but perceived as problems of the patch.
Note, the above are not my opinions, but an observation and an (of course limited) analysis of the inner workings of some people's brain.
the two cars related to BMW in LFS are the results of deals with Intel and V1/Fortec and not with BMW. So it's not any more likely that we get more BMW's in LFS than any other car.
Although it's a VERY tempting thought, I'm going to have to disagree.
Yes currently there are a lot of "career demo-ers" that you only see on the forum when they have somehow, in their mind, been negatively affected by LFS development, and that have now decided to come out of their hole to bitch and moan (I have no problem with constructive criticism, but I mainly see bitching and moaning which isn't the same).
The problem is that there are fair demo racers who have something good to say, although they seem to be less in numbers or not as vocal as the bitchers.
Also, it limits people who have yet to find their way to LFS, finding their possibilities limited beforehand. Among those future players could be valuable additions to the community that might be put off by that.
I must say, I think it's a pretty good idea. I wonder how much harder it would make the already complex task of programming the AI, but if feasible I think it would be great.
I have a good job, yet I can't afford, let's say an Aston Martin DB9. Does that mean I should be entitled to get an unlimited test drive when I go to the car dealer? After all, I can't afford it so they could at least try to understand my situation and let me keep driving it. They are so dumb for taking it away from me!
Mow some lawns, wash some cars, ask to do some other chores for people, get a paper round, get a good report card in school so maybe you get a reward from your parents or family, save up your allowance if you get any, ask it as a birthday or christmas present, the possibilities are endless. I had a paper round when I was 12/13.
But in the end, once again, it's not LFS's problem if you don't have or can't get money, it does not automatically entitle you to anything.
I guess it's going to be a long wait for you then. Then again, seeing how long you have been playing the demo you weren't exactly in a hurry to buy a license anyway.
Keep your eyes on the track then. Where they should be in the first place. Also take a look at RL tracks, ads all over the place. Big ones too.
As said, they have been there for a long time, so what does this have to do with Patch Y?
You're making a big deal over nothing imo.
Stop the "oh the poor demo players that have no money" excuse, I'm getting sick of it. If you don't have money to buy a game, don't you think then that is the least of your problems? Get of your lazy frecking ass and get a job! Jeez.
Very little in this world comes for free, deal with it! If one can't afford LFS, then that's tough, but it's NOT LFS's problem, it's not here to please as many people as possible for free.
you're acting like the devs are being cruel for REPLACING (not removing!) content in the FREE demo.
I'm not saying it would be spyware, I meant people will perceive it as spyware and people will be put off by it. Trust me, I see it all the time when I read about programs which for instance have a free version with ads in it, then it's often called spyware by people even though it's not.
Hate to break it to you but it seems LFS is just not the game for you. You already struggle with setups and clutch handling. These are integral parts of racing. It will only get worse for you because more changes are bound to come to LFS in the future that will only make it harder on you.
The fanbase? If they're such big fans why are they still on the demo?
The demo didn't get crappy, it got better by giving a better, broader impression of LFS. Sure, it will probably drive away a certain type of player, but those were never the type of player LFS was made for.
As said, there's a simple solution. The demo was never meant to provide anything more than a small taste.
