Quote from Dalibor79 :So....from demo view(not for long:shy GREAT thing is FBM. Fantastic even.
And for devs, with which we're blessed with, i mean look - u pay once and this thing lives and evolves, and they could take money monthly-which they dont.
Leave them, don't worry, they're doing great job, in fact their part of developing seems altruistic...I hate some ppl saying and waiting for s3 , that's nonsense, BE HAPPY with what u got NOW. I don't care for s3, s4 , alpha, beta, gamma....that doesn't matter cos this thing LFS is in good hands and gets better and better.....
So to scavier team - relax'n'enjoy for holidays, you ve earned it. And lots of respect(which many people just don't give enough)
cheers

Refreshing to hear from a demo user who appreciates the work on LFS. Hope to see you in S2 in the future

Read some recent topics about patch Y, it has been discussed to death.
Short version: putting a formula car in the demo gives a better, broader impression of S2.

Well, Blackwood and South City got higher resolution textures and if you're driving the FBM, that car is more detailed than the other cars. Your video card is pretty old so I don't think there's a whole lot you can do about it.
Did you try lowering some graphics settings in LFS? For instance not using full textures and decreasing the LOD?

Quote from Rappa Z :But i have yet to hear WHY it is so "bad."

Because it's (a bit) harder now. Because the times are slower. Because things changed (some people can't deal with change). Because the XRT was removed from the demo. Because "the world" as they know it has changed.
Yes, these are purely self centered "problems" but perceived as problems of the patch.

Note, the above are not my opinions, but an observation and an (of course limited) analysis of the inner workings of some people's brain.

the two cars related to BMW in LFS are the results of deals with Intel and V1/Fortec and not with BMW. So it's not any more likely that we get more BMW's in LFS than any other car.

Although it's a VERY tempting thought, I'm going to have to disagree.
Yes currently there are a lot of "career demo-ers" that you only see on the forum when they have somehow, in their mind, been negatively affected by LFS development, and that have now decided to come out of their hole to bitch and moan (I have no problem with constructive criticism, but I mainly see bitching and moaning which isn't the same).
The problem is that there are fair demo racers who have something good to say, although they seem to be less in numbers or not as vocal as the bitchers.
Also, it limits people who have yet to find their way to LFS, finding their possibilities limited beforehand. Among those future players could be valuable additions to the community that might be put off by that.

I must say, I think it's a pretty good idea. I wonder how much harder it would make the already complex task of programming the AI, but if feasible I think it would be great.

My number plate is empty. I paint the racer name on my skins and race cars don't have (or shouldn't have) number plates.

Quote from daanroof :u r the one crying about that some ppl cant afford it, lol.

Quote from daanroof :I was gonna buy an S2 License but now that you removed the XRT from the demo, i can't help but to feel bad about that many demo users can't afford to buy it. So there wont be any license for me now.

Erh, you were the one that brought it up.

I have a good job, yet I can't afford, let's say an Aston Martin DB9. Does that mean I should be entitled to get an unlimited test drive when I go to the car dealer? After all, I can't afford it so they could at least try to understand my situation and let me keep driving it. They are so dumb for taking it away from me!

Quote from daanroof :lol, have u thought of people that r too young then? for example, im only 14, how should i get a job? I have the money so thats not a problem for me but still there r players that can't get a job so they get the money

Mow some lawns, wash some cars, ask to do some other chores for people, get a paper round, get a good report card in school so maybe you get a reward from your parents or family, save up your allowance if you get any, ask it as a birthday or christmas present, the possibilities are endless. I had a paper round when I was 12/13.

But in the end, once again, it's not LFS's problem if you don't have or can't get money, it does not automatically entitle you to anything.

Quote from Stnmtz :i really agree with this thread!!!!
i agree that Y pactch have good updates, but for demo drifters this patch killed all the fun because dumbs removed XR GT Turbo from demo and putted some crappy bmw "formula" shit car..

as a demo player i refuse this game untill they will recover xr gt!

I guess it's going to be a long wait for you then. Then again, seeing how long you have been playing the demo you weren't exactly in a hurry to buy a license anyway.

Keep your eyes on the track then. Where they should be in the first place. Also take a look at RL tracks, ads all over the place. Big ones too.
As said, they have been there for a long time, so what does this have to do with Patch Y?
You're making a big deal over nothing imo.

you have to re-enter your username and GAME password again to unlock it, like after every major patch.

My god, I can't understand people like you!

Stop the "oh the poor demo players that have no money" excuse, I'm getting sick of it. If you don't have money to buy a game, don't you think then that is the least of your problems? Get of your lazy frecking ass and get a job! Jeez.

Very little in this world comes for free, deal with it! If one can't afford LFS, then that's tough, but it's NOT LFS's problem, it's not here to please as many people as possible for free.

you're acting like the devs are being cruel for REPLACING (not removing!) content in the FREE demo.

Quote from ColeusRattus :Why would it be spyware? No collecting of data for "personalized" ads, just simple displaying of general ads, like most websites do. So no spyware involved.

I'm not saying it would be spyware, I meant people will perceive it as spyware and people will be put off by it. Trust me, I see it all the time when I read about programs which for instance have a free version with ads in it, then it's often called spyware by people even though it's not.

Quote from J@tko :Mind you, you'd still get people saying 'ahhh, i hate these ads, get rid of them', and people spamming the forums.

Exactly.
For some people it's just never enough. All they want is take, take, take, complain, complain, complain.

Besides that, it would harm LFS reputation, be called spyware and stuff like that.
So no, not a very well thought out plan.

Hate to break it to you but it seems LFS is just not the game for you. You already struggle with setups and clutch handling. These are integral parts of racing. It will only get worse for you because more changes are bound to come to LFS in the future that will only make it harder on you.

I really do hope that something is fixed because it will drive away alot of the fanbase.

The fanbase? If they're such big fans why are they still on the demo?

Quote :If you want to encourage people to buy S2, making the demo crappier isn't going to help.

The demo didn't get crappy, it got better by giving a better, broader impression of LFS. Sure, it will probably drive away a certain type of player, but those were never the type of player LFS was made for.

Quote :
I have mixed feelings about the patch, but the things I don't like are the no reversed maps and the XRT out(on the demo).

As said, there's a simple solution. The demo was never meant to provide anything more than a small taste.

This is kind of a Reformation, to swipe away the wrong substance from the community (probably going to get lots of haters after saying this :yummySmile. Players who do not see a single positive thing in patch Y are not clearly playing the right game. Then again all this just shows that LFS has already attracted "wrong" kind of players who seemingly can not adapt to the new harder rules.

That's exactly how I see it as well.

Quote from Rooble :
I guess the main gripe I have with this new patch is the way things came to be and how they were implemented, no one really had any say and we've usually had some sort of input into the grand scheme of things. And no this does not mean that Scawen should go ahead and develop what we want, when we want, But I feel we should get a say on things being removed or added as after all this isn't a full product.

Have you followed the test patch thread at all? If you did, you would know some things were changed/corrected and compromises were made.
