The majority of the people complaining about it taking ages and complaining about LFS being dead are the ones who've driven AS3/GTR for the past year and now find that boring so they don't play at all. Learn some other cars, play on some other tracks and appreciate what you have a lot more - because the way your going about things now means you'll just get bored of the scirocco within a week.
At the end of the day, who really cares if there's a new car coming - even though it really annoys me when people say this to me, but a lot of you need to get a life! Its not a big deal at all when you actually think about what your sat here complaining about... Its a waste of energy and a waste of the moderators / developers time when they have to sift through a test patch forum past all of the kiddy spam to find the bug report they are looking for to finally get it finished.
Mine does that but I'm still driving, it doesn't seem to effect it at all.
Here's a video I've done of a lap I somehow did earlier today. This was my first ever run with the 05 Lancer and I've fallen in love! This was a whole 3 seconds faster than my past PB that i'd pretty much hotlapped with Mcrae's '00 Focus.
The sound is a bit out of sync at the start since is skips, but you can still see the driving I guess.
Just woke up?! I think he DNF'd the last stage.
Next rally set for 5PM - 30 minutes time.
The randomly generated car class was A8_2 - This features the following cars:
Volvo 242LE
Lancia Delta Integrale HF
Toyota Celica ST205
Ford Escort Cosworth
Subaru Impreza 95
BMW M3 E30
The event:
LFS British Rally
Once around each stage forwards, ended off by the good old rally school mini stage.
Starting time:
Entries begin at 16:45 and the rally commences at 17:00
Later on today (Hopefully around 3 o clock) I'm going to make a few Public Session events, short sprint based ones with popular tracks and open car selection, and I might throw in a few restricted ones so we can have some fun with the Lada's. I'll update here later!
I've been using the 2000 WRC Focus and seem to be able to match the top times on theh championship stages, as long as I don't crash! Slowly working on my consistency.
EDIT: Just tried a few new cars, the 95 Impreza was wierd, I had brilliant turn in at high speeds, and massive understeer at low speeds - crazy! After trying about 20 cars on Cote D'Abroz (my benchmark track) I ended up choosing Loeb's 2009 C4, and without seemingly being much better, it drove me 2 seconds faster than i'd ever been at the first split, on the first ever run in that car - its really something! Definately going to be using that for official championships.
Its just generally better! The interface is nicer and I'm guessing there won't be as many people on the old version racing still - Its well worth the upgrade IMO. Oh there's a few new tracks too that are pretty nice.
