You will find there is (and has been for a while) a force cockpit option within lfs, now I believe with the ability to personalise and tweak it. I say again, if you wish to look behind you, use your mirrors.
I dont believe its a bug. The viewing was restricted and looking back removed within LFS within Patch Y, its right there in the change log if you have a read and a search around. I would expect it to restrict movement with a TrackIR too.
The numer of degrees you can look left and right is changable within options.
As for looking back generally.. In a single seater, all you would see is the back of the cockpit, and if you were racing in a tin top, apart from having all kinds of protective gear on, harneses and restraints, you would probably not be able to fully turn to see behind you out of your helmet.
LFS is going for realism, I suggest you use the mirrors more
omg! Im so tired of reading these threads. If you want your favorite care, its VERY easy to get it back, buy S2, or even S1 I guess.
No one is going to give you a S2 licence as a christmas present, what have you done for the community? There have been some kind people who have given people licences in the past, but most I would think were for people who have given so much to the rest of us.
This is NO different to the other name and shame incident or thread here. This will be locked within hours. Ok its not nice to read, but you are not going to get anywhere like this, take a look at the other name and shame threads and find me some which are not locked and do not turn to crap.
If you wanted to report abuse, use the forum report system, use email to LFS support, they are usually very helpful, however you may want to consider the time of year and the amount of work being processed with the release of Y.
My point is this. Posting here that you wish to report abuse, is not actually reporting it, but reporting that you wish to report it, which isnt really news, and doesn't really help anyone.
Season Two of the DBP Christmas Cracker draws to a successful end on Friday 21st December 2007 completing two of the three events in DBP's Winter Schedule.
Skinny is the current championship leader but with him missing the final rounds, will Flip, Maddmaff or Brad be able to mount a challenge?
Its strange, I had a feeling you wouldn't remember or have know where im talking about, so I made a little video of the incident, which is here for you to watch.
Your answer will be something along the lines of "did I not see the yellow flag", or "could I have not gone to the right of you and around", to which my answer would be something along the lines of:
Yes, I seen the yellow flag, and yes, I could have tried to go around to the right of you, but have you ever tried breaking quickly and turning in an mrt, they are unstable at the best of times.
I went for the gap I presumed you would leave, because:
a) you were being lapped and you will have seen the blue flag
b) you had spun and was recovering, thus you would be leaving room and awaiting other cars to pass
c) you realised you did wrong when you exited the chicane, as you allowed both following cars to pass without holding them up.
Regardless, I know you was in the wrong, you will notice im not posting this as a complaint. Im just asking for a little more awareness.
On the blue flag yeilding point, it should be noted that it takes two to tango. It takes a fair amount of cooperation between lapping car and lapped car. Lapper IMO should always be thinking "ok I need to pass this guy, I should try and do it at the least inconvenient place to this guy, as im not racing him and I've no need to upset his race".
Therefore, they should be awake and alert, watching for places where the lapped car is slower, or unsure, or where they lift to allow overtaking.
With reference to my incident with Nosser above, yes I should have tried to brake, just as Nosser should have waiting for the track to be clear before rejoining.
Not my best showing or experience from Fern Bay, however, the track is much better in the other direction
Quali and Race One, started near the back and stayed there then lapped several times, nothing to write home about except a lack of understanding of what a "being lapped" driver is required to do while being lapped, which lost me some time, but I would take a guess that being so many laps down, that would not be a consideration in the minds of some of those lapping. Lots of shoving in Quali too.
Race Two, started again near the back, as those who are slowest will do with a top ten reverse grid, it will always reward the faster ten. Kinda glad in a way, as I get the feeling that those who consider themselves faster would have just pushed the slower cars off the track as they did in race one.
I have one beef, with DT ChesNas 13 (Nosser) who managed to spin approaching the chicane, and rejoin the racing line right infront of me, which made me take to the grass to miss him. I thought that was bad enough, but learning he was behind me at the time too..
Will sleep on it.
Hoping for a better standard for the next race, which will be next year? Correct?
Thanks for the comments guys, appreciated as always
We are continuing the celebrations right up to christmas, with three rounds of our Christmas Cracker MultiCup series and two further rounds of Get Wrecked, DBP's Banger Racing Series for some Christmas Fun
F9 and F10 are command keys within lfs, id recommend using others, as my experience with those keys assigned as hotkeys for external programs, is never a good combination.
Also, if you can find one, use an older build of fraps, never the latest version. More stability.
Wow, well that is supprising Fordie! I don't agree in the slightest, yes its different, but it needs to be given the chance to work. All in all, its been.. less than a week since x30 was released to us... Id give it at least until Y comes out with everything that was buggy in x30 is "fixed".
You will feel what you once did, like all the others who have been dissapointed. LFS IS still fun, more so now than ever. We have to learn to find it, and we will, with time.
Fine with things the way they are now to be honest. Don't find them particularly hard to read, but they could be clearer. Wouldn't class it as a priority on the big list of things to fix/change
