Driven By Passion would like to take this oppertunity to announce its first Public Event for the LiveForSpeed Community.
Welcome to Get Wrecked - Season Three. The previous two successful seasons of this series were hosted by the Clean Racers Club. Which is at the moment committed to the history books. People move on, and so have I.
Driven By Passion will now host this event, this season and in the future too. We welcome ALL members of the community to sign up and enter this series.
Taking advantage of LFS's new features, we will be trying to fill the full S2 28 Racing Slots, and reserves will be invited to come spectate if they wish to.
Highlights videos will be released with the best action from each round of the series.
I wont make this thread longer than it has to be, nor will we be requiring a subforum here at the LFS forums. We have our own with all the information there.
The Race Information is already on the Race Calendar. And here is a link to our website and forums. All addresses are below also.

Please join me in Welcoming a new member to the Driven By Passion Team:
Maddmaff
Welcome to Driven By Passion Maddmaff, we hope we can make your stay with us a welcome one for all involved. See you on the track.
After a period of restructuring, with the very public departure of Leprekaun, and the reversal of Frokki's Team Membership until he sorts out his Control Issues, internally, there has been some restructuring going on.
The team operates much more efficiently now, with multiple people taking control of different areas of the team, we can operate much more confidently.
Thank you goes out to all who have helped DBP in the past, and to the list below, of my team mates. Without them, DBP would simply not be possible.
Current lineup:
[DBP] Gael [DBP] Koabi [DBP] Serpentine [DBP] Skinny [DBP] Sly_Guy [DBP] Stoney [DBP] Phil [DBP] B-RAD [DBP] Maddmaff
Welcome to Driven By Passion. Still Accepting Entries.
Keep an Eye out for DBP's first Official Racing Series, starting in May 2007
Patch W came with new options and switches in the config file. Which means that each server needs to be upgraded individually. Servers are upgraded when requested by submitting a support ticket to myself, I get to them as soon as possible.
I havent been active much lately, but submit a ticket, and I will get things done.
Stoney is still not as active as he should be, he sends his sorry's and hopes to return once not in and out of hospital.
I really do appologise guys to all that Ive failed to help over the past few weeks. I hope to be back to what I was, if not better as soon as I physically can.
After a while of quietness with Driven By Passion getting to know and love its team mates within the team in Private and Public sessions, DBP is back with some news to announce. Not everything can be happy and something to celebrate, and so we present to following news:
One of DBP's Founding Members, Leprekaun has come to a decision which see's him part company with the Driven By Passion Team. After a difficult time near the end, Leprekaun has decided that his future does not include him continuing to Drive for the Driven By Passion team.
The Team is saddened at this decision, and every one of us wishes Leprekaun the best of luck within his LFS future, and of course in real life. We watch with hope to see what doors of opportunity open to Leprekaun in the Future.
The Best of Luck to you Leprekaun, and we thank you.
This news reduces the DBP Line up as below, down to Nine members, one of which, [DBP] Frokki is currently Inactive. We will follow up this Release with some information regarding Frokki's Situation in a short while.
Current lineup:
[DBP] Gael [DBP] Koabi [DBP] Serpentine [DBP] Skinny [DBP] Sly_Guy [DBP] Stoney [DBP] Phil [DBP] B-RAD [DBP] Frokki
Driven By Passion is always open to applications. Please visit the website, and click on the Applicant Information link, to apply to DBP.
have to agree with Jakq here.. Website is possibly the first thing that a potential team mate/applicant will see. Think about your audience, what kind of image do you want people to form of your team..?
According to the thread title of the above thread on the second page of these team forums (a quick search), apparently includes information on Gaming Websites.. (I'd expect for free).
Website doesnt have to be anything special, but if you want people to spend more than 5 minutes browsing you, think about spending more than 5 mintes, or pounds developing your own.
There are pleanty of people out there in webworld who will work with you for credit and design/create websites that are different from the normal. You just have to search for them.
Just search these forums. There are many many teams recruiting for drivers. For drivers that will stay a distance tho. Many of the newer teams popping up seem to change things daily. For stability to exist, people have to stick to comitments for a while, give things the chance to get somewhere.
My advice, stay independent for a while, research and find a group of people you enjoy racing with, get to know them first, before applying to join them. At least then you know where you are, and your not stuck with a team thats going to leave or desert you. You have to upper hand.
DBP recruits mature racers. Come test, race and hang out with us any time you wish.
I dont understand this, or where it comes from. The word noob is offensive to some, and care should be used when using it. Every team, when it starts out is new, equaling the meaning of noob. Just like you and I was, when we started with LFS or anything else. We have all been noobs.
Tend to agree, when setting up DBP, I thought that to make the best impression of a team with intentions to stick around, having a Forum/website and server would be the most appropriate way of doing things.
These team forums.. there are lots of new teams, sometimes three or four per day, and the recruitment makes me giggle. Its either...
Hey wanna join my team? Yeh, Ill join...
or
Must be experienced over 31 million miles and a 1:29.00 in the XFG at Blackwood...
Excuse me for being professional, with application forms and realistic requirements. Im very happy with my LFS Team, 10 strong, in just under two months. 9 of the friendliest, funnyest drivers in LFS at the moment, (and me). Its a great bunch, im sure they will agree. We dont ask for much, but we are serious about what we do ask.
In summary.. Agreed gag, there are two many flash in the pan teams, a bit of thought and organisation.. and things can be much better.
#goes back to my sad little world, living in the gutters and undergrowth of these forums#
Thank you franky.. Those prices are just sillyness, but good sillyness. I look forward to sharing some turn one madness with you franky, if you remember how to race, instead of that CLC stuff u bought a g25 for
In all seriousness, Thanks for your comments franky, and thank you Ant for planting this seed of madness..
Please dont take my post as a downer as to what you are trying to do, in the beginning, its very hard, A lot of people do think they can buy a dedi, and get straight into it, and make some money. It doesnt work like that, its a nice idea, but it really doesnt work that way.
Some things to think about:
Get an S2 Licence - People will apply more trust to those who have paid the same as them, getting licenced says your interested in being involved with the community, not just here to make a fast buck. Its the simple things that count, but over the past few months, a lot of people have been getting into hosting, and will make a post here, never to be seen or heard of again..
Think about a name for your hosting.. This is your first post:
It doesnt tell me:
Who you are
Why I should trust what your saying
Why I should part with money to you
What your hardware is
Where your hardware is
Think of a name for the service you are planning to offer, and also how you will go about offering it. Its more than just buying a server and running LFS servers from it. It takes real time and energy, and investment to make something like this a success.
You have to know what your selling, If a customer thinks for one moment you dont know what you are doing, then you will not gain their confidence.
Think of your competition, a quick search of these hosting forums found:
Visit their websites, see what they are pricing and offer services accordingly. I want to see more server company's Offering their services, but I also wouldnt wish any clients or potential clients to rent services from companies, or individuals who are not sure whats involved.
Ask franky500, a well known member of this community, Im sure he would share some experiences with you. Its not all plain sailing, its not easy, some hard work is involved.
I wish you the best of luck in your server rental activities, and just ask for a bit of thought before offering services to these paying people
