Take it easy with the rolling of eyes. The question was relating to how this is done in LFS. Truth is, its not done nativly in lfs. Its done via additional programming through insim, as you stated earlier.
Until I see diffrently, that is what I will believe, and I will use my right to post that.
Keep wishing. Not included in lfs, cant see it ever being included as such.
You could always use the Autocross objects, and make your own.. but you'd be relying on drivers to actually drive that way. Some will cheat. Thats life.
Have you tried a different browser? Each router will be different and its impossible to support every single one, but the LFS Manual (Wiki) should help you with the ports you need opened. (link at the top of every forum page).
After a quick google search, ive not found anything exactly for that router, but surely if you look, you will find a manual of sorts or a guide somewhere. In my experience (limited) its the Firewall Rules and Ports options that are needed and most important.
But first, we have to get you past your browser issues, which cannot be done, unless we know what you are using
I will assume you are running windows as you failed to tell us that one in your post/rant. I know from experience its easy to say "it didn't work" but after a while one starts to question how much effort one puts into the kind of thing where a process and careful consideration is needed.
Hosting an LFS Server locally is not hard. The post TAA linked you too in the first responce does contain everything you need to get your server working. This is also on the LFS Manual, a resource which I've personally found very useful in starting from scratch over the last few days.
Ive followed the instructions on there step by step, then played a little lfs on the server.
Incorrect. If you were to "buy" a server from a server company, you would be "renting" that server, which would already be all setup for others to be able to see, thus taking away the hosting issues from yourself.
Are you making sure that you are starting the server as "internet" and not local or hidden?
Not your fault Dan, im a little dissapointed that you will be happy when the league is over, the MRT usually generates some great racing and overtaking oppertunities, and the organisation, as far as I can tell has been nothing short of great too.
But when it's all over, if you find yourselves wanting more MRT, DBP's MRT Series should be just about to start up again And I think I'd go so far as to say all that are here would be welcomed.
Yeh, that winning crap, must get really boring after a while
You know what, all in all, it was what I expected it to be, so im not so dissapointed, but I guess it is bad when you expect to not finish or finish last.
Ho hum, Bob's Fonce and the "Polish Fingers" talk kept me going.
Im please the "i hated you" guy has gone. That should take away at least half of the driving issues.. Its not so much that there is dirty driving, its just a lack of patience.. a bit of pushing and shoving.
But im confident we can change that before the end of the season!
Not possible for more than one car to start in any other position or direction other than the start/finish position. Suggest placing an immediate U-turn corner after the start/finish line/lights, thus forcing a reverse direction.
So ok not quite what you wanted, but its a work around.
I believe there are many overtaking places, but it does require cooperation and confidence with those you are racing with. Ive been through both chicanes side by side before without incident.
Im not that fast here, 43.62 I think. But from the races Ive had with my teammates and friends, its always been a lot of fun. Im better at longer races at this track, so should be good.
Of course I will go into it expecting the usual ass wiping, and if not that, the wiping out. I just hope that Danowat gets to finish!
Sounds like you have a bunch of offers GF, but I for one was supprised with all the work and promotion you do for your league that you didnt already have a "Gentlefoot" team to fall back on.
Members of the GFC and GTTC already talk about things as a "team" so surely thats natural progression.
Not to sound discouraging, but if your not to hot on computer stuff, can I recommend one of the many LFS Hosting companies we have flooding our market.. Might work out easier for you in the long run.
Try the unofficial addons section of the forum. This isnt a host issue. As for the question, im sure in the LFS Lapper thread you will find your answer.
