So what we should hear is basically the same except a fart sound everytime they change gear.

It should sound like a more revy version of the turbo era V6, you got to keep in mind those cars where only pulling 600-700hp in race trim and had around 10-12k Rpm.

Quote from BlueFlame :Even Holden were in BTCC. Mercedes have never really had any cars in British motorsport, I guess the market in the UK is just not big enough for them to bother.

Tbh that was irrelevent, back in the 90s it was the premier touring car series in the world.

Now its just 3 good drivers and a field of ameuters that get the left overs.

I never use cockpit view in GT5 for that exact reason its anoying.
It needs to be fixed.

I Use the roof cam, instead.

Quote from ACCAkut :I guess there will be a bit of shuffeling with engines next year. is there anywhere to compare this years and next years regs? I remember the new ones focussing more on energy spent rather than displacement etc.

Porsche may use more or less every engine the VAG group has to offer as baseline. The Cayenne S Hybrids 3.0 VR6 may be a good basis for a single turbo 2.0 unit. The VR6s layout may make packaging easier, as all the "hot stuff" is on one side. And its a compact proofen engine.

I read about a V8 being favoured, but that was years ago.

No way would they use a production engine as a base, it will be purpose built for this car.

Its not a touring car.

Quote from Cornys :Will there be a difference in power? Or will it be minimal?

Maybe less, but with a development war it should increase, just depends how long they will allow development go for before they freeze everything to make it spec again.

I prefer the engine because it brings a engine development war with it.

Besides the sound of it in person would be much different anyway.

Finished the game, the story line kinda gives the impression there may be a sequel.

Quote from ACCAkut :damn it still curious which V8 ends up in that car.
Can't we just make a series that combines V8SC, DTM, and SuperGT? The latter two are the same already

That wouldn't be good, the reason V8s are soo popular is because they are not high downforce GT cars, like the other two.

Besides DTM cars are on a Tube Frame chasis with a shell on top, the V8s are still a solid car.

This is starting to become like 90s BTCC with all the factory teams only the cars have crap loads more power.

You think USAC would atleast try to make the cars more safer it seems too often someone is killed by them.

at 9:00+ the guy says that it took a supercar 1h 45 to go side to side only on highways, 2h 30 to a top level off road vehicle (whatever that means) cutting through hills and everything

250 to 300kms sounds accurate.

For instance the race on TDU that you do that circles the island is around 200kms and takes around 1 to an hour and 10 mins. And thats with a top class supercar.

Quote from Sueycide_FD :Where are you guys getting these low numbers from? They confirmed 10,000 kms of road. Do you think you can fit that much distance in a area 110-130kms across?

I'm sure they used the entire Continental US and shortened it abit, but only factored in important roads and cities like Route 66 and other significant highways thus boosting the distance up.

Considering it took me weeks at first to recognize oahu roads when I first played TDU 1, on a map 5 times larger with about 5 times the amount of useable road, this game will have months of just driving gameplay to explore.

Some may treat this game as a arcade racer but i see it as the next TDU and will be playing it accordingly, Physics should atleast be significantly better then the TDU2 rubbish combine that with likely more cars and much more customization i think it would be great, they seem to have a more seemless version of TDUs online gameplay which is much much better the Horizons lobby system.

I hope that you can see how much distance you put on your car as well.

Quote from sinbad :They wouldn't be that long.

Only 5000 square kilometers. How far could it possibly be coast-to-coast? 100km by 50km? Even with the non-rectangular shape, maybe 110km across, 130km with road deviation? Seems like a fairly tame "2 hours drive" at pedestrian speeds to get from NY to SF.

I don't get the fast travel thing either, as if the map won't seem a bit smaller than you'd hope, they want to make it even smaller. I quite like the idea of being bound to physical travel, having a "home" unless I acquire another, actual exploration, rather than click-of-a-button-top-of-a-mountain.

Considering it was around 50kms across on just Oahu which wasn't much more then 1 thousand kms squared, and the Mainland of USA is much more wider in shape I would assume you are looking closer to 250-300kms.

Sinbad, I think your complaing for the sake of complaining.

No open world driving game can match this size so far by even half, It will take atleas months of just Driving the roads and dirt trails before you would start to even recognize anything.

Im pretty sure people are looking at the camera too much if you look closely the camera angles give the illusion of slide even when its not.

There will highly likely be an interior view anyway(they showed it in the trailer) so it shouldn't matter.

Quote from Bose321 :Driver SF had very enjoyable physics to be honest. Sure it was not realistic, but it felt somewhat realistic and just pure fun without being super arcade-ish.

This on the other hand...

Its made by the same people so the physics could be similar.

Engine sounds seem pretty good, I hope there is good Wheel feeling though, that will be the main thing for me.

Basically a New online MMO car driving game, the map is likely to be the biggest experienced on any game thus far with the entire Map based on United states, although not to scale, it should still easily surpass any map sized Experienced on Test Drive unlimited(it apparently takes 2 hours at full speed to go from coast to coast).

The Crew has confirmed there will be 10,000kms of Road(compared to 3000kms on Tdu 2 with the combination of Ibiza and Hawaii).

Kinda comes off a bit too much Need for speed like for me but the massive customization and massive map is more then makes up for it, definitely looking forward to this game and seems to fill all the holes thats TDU missed out big time with TDU 2.

Video explaining this game better here:

Release date is unknown right now but it is confirmed for Release on PC, Xbox one and PS4.

Tristan, how do you manage to consistently bash a driver for 6 years straight in every aspect of what he does yet everyone else escapes blame.

I doubt you ever crossed paths with him at any stage so the only thing i can.think of is you hate him because of his background or something.
I mean I didn't like hamilton much when he started but it wasnt like I was agianst him on every little thing he ever did.

Its getting sad.

Quote from BlueFlame :No but it would probably be the only RWD success they've ever had outside of Trucks.

Its just a drive train anyway, the biggest issue with new manufacturers coming into V8s right now is getting enough power out of the Pushrod engine which Holden and Ford pretty much have had had it down pat for years.

Nissan are pretty close Within a Year of Development where as AMG will probably take atleast another season to catch up(Surprise, Surprise AMG is taking longer despite far more experience dealing with V8 engines than Nissan).

Quote from Dennis93 :Are you 100% positive that those are RWD?

The ones that used to race in the old STCC was FWD, and IIRC, that is one thing you cannot change on the race cars compared to the street versions, I could be wrong though.

What I was trying to stress was that Volvo don't really have much RWD experience except, their tractors.

so basically every success they had the 80s with the 240 never existed?

Quote from ACCAkut :the VK series is pretty V8 for me. And its been in racing for years.

yeah, had. They had that Yamaha V8 for the XC90, but when Volvo changed ownership in 2010 they lost the rights for that engine too.

None of those VK models are sold in Australia though(apart from a Nissan Patrol but I mean how relevant is that, its the furthest thing from sporty??), making it irrelevant.

Quote from ACCAkut :http://www.foxsports.com.au... ... spite-continuing-rumours/

and it wouldn't really fit their portfolio, wouldn't it? They don't do sporty cars that much (compared to say Nissan), and don't even have a V8 in their catalogue as of 2010.

Nissan Doesn't have a V8 either and the car they used is probably the furthest thing from ''sporty''.
