So thats basically £5 for the addon, definately worth buying. Wonder if many people will actually be racing them online though.

Thought this was pretty interesting, http://www.digitaldisplacement.com/?p=2783

If only the LX's in LFS looked that good Wonder how the Race physics engine will cope though..

Going there tomorrow, wondering if any LFS'ers are going as well. At the Santa Pod drag strip near Wellingborough.

The same day I brought my first wheel, I brought my S1 licence, all them years ago. Was a fun evening If you hotlap a lot, an S1 licence would be a good stepping stone, but online its pretty much dead.

Sorry to hear the STCC's gone for now, TBH most of the fun races I've had this year have been in those servers. I hope when circumstances allow, the STCC will make a return.

1st option does the job for me, might have something to do with cycling everywhere..bit of a random poll though.

Not had a bath in years..never seem to have the time when the shower works so well.

Performance hasn't changed from the closed/open beta's. Infact I'm not certain anything at all has really..

With lower resolutions you'll probably be fine, if I drop the resolution a bit the framerates shoot up, but it looks rubbish on my LCD.

Switch the onboard graphics out for a 7600GT or 7900GT and it'll run it fine. A 7600GT is dirt cheap these days, £60 or so over here. Onboard graphics will *not* be powerful enough though.

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :u call that average?
i guess mine is then stoneage like as i have athlon xp 2600+ 1.9 GHZ, 7600GS, 1 gig RAM(333mhz).

i just wonder if there has been done anything (or somebody does know a way) to do something against that annoying stuttering when driving fast (obviously a loading problem).

Seeing as I assembled it last summer for around £300, I'd say its fairly average for a modern computer.

Now you mentionn stuttering, I get a bit when an AI car comes into view for the first time - presumably loading the model, but I don't get any high speed stuttering at all, not enough free ram to cache enough of the island perhaps causes it?

Btw, I run 1280x1024, high detail, no AA/AF, HDR off, and average 35-40fps. Upto 50fps when out in the sticks. Mild overclocking on the CPU & gfx card.

Using a DG834 here, prefer it to the speedtouch I used to have. Prefer it as well to the hub BT gave me, which I believe is also essentially a speedtouch, it dropped the connection a lot more.

Only bug that still annoys me is every other time I go into the game, I have to alt-tab out and back in, or the models aren't rendered correctly. Not exactly a showstopper.

Fairly average machine as well, A643400 @ 2.4Ghz, 7600GT, 1GB Ram, handles 1280x1024 on high fine.

Quote :I think there is a difference in terminology here also, alpha/beta/final as applied to most software products is not the same as what Scawen uses to describe LFS. So when you paid for an S2 license you bought access to the current content, I looked at the purchase page and I didn't see anywhere that promised a final(in the terms that you and not the devs judge)version of the game.

Its alpha because its not feature complete, correct? For example, the GTR's don't have their own dashboards, the damage model/diffs aren't complete, etc.

So how is the terminology being applied differently to LFS? I would expect it to have a very short beta time before going gold.

Edit: Took too long.

Well TDU done it rather successfully with 90-odd cockpits, and that more than likely had less people working on it, and a smaller budget.

Damnit why can't the G25 work with the 360, I'd go out and buy one today if it could be done. Thoroughly enjoyed the 1st Forza except the fuzzy graphics, which is clearly sorted.

Yes 'the Ring' was in the 1st Forza, but it looked & drove pretty terrible compared to GT4's version, and more so compared to rF's version these days.

Surely you can be bothered to spend 5 secs unclamping it to find out? On the underside between the clamps IIRC.

In-car view. Last time a poll like this came up I voted for the wheels view, but since switching to incar, using any other view just doesn't feel right.

Don't like lowering the FOV though, everything feels like it happens in slow-motion.

Quote from Jakg :i'm using XTremeG 94's, working GREAT at TDU

These drivers have brought my average FPS up a few into the 40's, thanks for mentioning them. (Upgraded from 93.10 IIRC).

I never have much faith in the OBC's reading, in the C4 I used to drive, once the fuel light came on at ~40 miles with 2 flashing bars, you could do those 40, then have no flashing bars, then do another 20 before its time to look for a fuel station. Then you put a tenner in, and apparently you'll only get 50 miles out of that.

A friends Pug 406 2.0 diesil was similar, once the fuel light came on, he could drive to work and half way back before it started complaining (~80 miles).

Quote from Sketchyrollin564 :I dont know why, but i would probably have more fun driving the "normal" cars in the game. From what i know, the only normal cars are the GTI (vw golf), the z33 (350z), and the mustang?

oh well, i still want the game.

There's a few "normal" cars, in my garage I have an Alfa GT thingy (FWD, mass understeer and lift off oversteer, fun stuff), Audi TT & a 350Z. Don't like the Golf, because it forces you into using the paddles with it.
