I'd be careful trying, a friend of mine popped the window accidently on his old 406 by trying to slide a coat hanger in the top of the door frame, bit too much stress on the window i guess.

I locked my keys inside my 106 a few months back, I just took the outside window trim off as Sam93 describes, and used a peice of fairly thick cardboard to slide the pin up. Surfice to say after finding out how easy it is, the cars kept in the garage now

Quote from XCNuse :Tire smoke in this game is the best i've ever seen in any game period.
If you think it looks crappy, then you don't have it set to the right settings.

Physics wise, I think it's pretty damn well for an NFS game, no longer can you ram the crap out of stuff and go 200mph and take sharp turns and hope to come out alive, and no longer can you take big jumps as fast as you wish without the engine inertia rolling the car over mid-air.
btw, I haven't tried anything besides whatever was in the demo, so no I have no clue how bad the drifting is, just surely it isn't as bad as Carbon's was.

I think NFS has taken a huge step.

Unfortunately I have nothing that can handle it's graphics, even at all the lowest settings.

I'm gonna agree with this fella. Physics wise its pseudo-sim now, along the lines of the PGR series, or perhaps some of the older NFS titles.

Tried the PC version, decided it was crap what with the stuttering (Not a low FPS, a constant stuttering every sec or two), even when turning the visuals down. So paid £15 and got it for the 360.

One thing I dislike is the tracks look very bland, highly detailed but bland, all using similar props and looking the same. And the vinyl/decal editor is no-where near as powerful or refined as Forza's.

Gamestation will do you an Xbox 360 arcade pack + forza 2 & Crackdown for £170 at the moment

I got some rather useful bits - new jacket, new shoes, smelly stuff, lots of whisky, some books, couple of dvds. Of course the pair of socks as well. And a jumper thats a shockingly good fit.

Winamp was my first though as I used to use it a few years ago, but IIRC it does not have a library, only playlists. Has this changed?

Winamp has had a media management library for a couple of years now since it hit 5.0. Can't comment on it though, I still organise my music by folders. Old skool Last time I tried importing it all to a library it was all over the place because half the tags are screwed.

Winamp's done the job for me for longer than I can remeber.

Most Citroens these days have all the counters in digital, rather nicely done actually, positioned in such a way it doesn't take as long to read (set on top of the dash, far back in the middle).

Old Audi's had the option for it as well, I remeber seeing it in my old Audi 90 handbook That was back in the mid-80's.

Bah. I've just finished working today, and I'm working in the only shop in the town thats mad enough to be open tomorrow. Taking £1K/hr in a corner shop isn't so fun. Bah humbug.

Merry Christmas!

Hah, loving my Gallente destroyer Don't think I've been in Gallente space since day 1 though. I remeber playing Eve a couple of years ago, visually since the trinity pack its much better looking now. Has optional HDR lighting as well, which is suprisingly well done.

I'm training my character up for PvP mostly, as the corp I'm in has weekly deathmatch's. When I asked about tanking the ship up in the newbie room I got about 20 people advising me on the best way to do it and an eve-mail detailing which armor reinforcers to use against different enemies. Helpful

Topgear is a decent magazine, infact I have this months sitting on my desk Covers a wide range of vehicles in pretty much every catagory, and is entertaining to read while being informative.

Evo magazine I don't know much about, focuses a lot more on tuner cars than standard ones as far as I know, whereas Topgear tends to focus on stock new cars.

That doesn't work in the UK I think, I remeber trying it before.

You did remind me though, I have a 48hr trial in my Halo 3 case

I got sorta screwed over my 1 month gold free trial, turns out it started when I created the Live account on a mates console, and is tied into the account and not linked to the console. So I was only able to use my new console on Live for 10 days. Ended up shouting at some tier 2 support guy at Microsoft over it, as its sold advertising a months free trial

A certain 205 1.9 GTI is the only car I've felt for certain I'm gonna loose a limb in, yet walked away in one peice (and with a nice adrenaline rush). The sensation of being in one of them is very different to a modern "hot hatch". No headroom for starters

I loved my 106 as well, not quite as raw as the 205, but I actually had headroom in it, which was nice. The design for early ones was very nice as well, espically in darker colours. Felt like your constantly going to oversteer if you lifted the throttle, which it did, most of the time.

Both these cars are sitting on driveways SORN declared though now. And for that reason I'm not so tempted to buy another Peugeot. Mates 205 needs a new engine - cracked and head blown, 106 engine isn't so healthy either.

Hah, back in my noob S1 days I once saw a Supra in a petrol station, and immediately called it an RB4 without thinking Couldn't even recall the right name for it afterwards.
Anyone play Eve-Online?

Just curious if anyone here plays Eve-Online. Its a space-set MMORPG (I think I got that right..).

I started a free trial a few days ago, and after the inital very steep learning curve, it seems to be stealing all my free time, lots of fun. I always love a bit of sci-fi and big space-ships blowing up. Reminds me a lot of a 3-4yr old game by MS called "Freelancer". But much much bigger, and more immersive. Something like 30,000-40,000 players on one server in the evening, damned impressive! The social side is nice as well, always someone willing to give you a hand figuring stuff out.

Nice find, looks pretty sweet, espically if it gets released onto Live Arcade. Doesn't exactly scream its a sim, but karting games of any kind seem to be rare.

It was a Lada, it had a normal & low range gearbox, and was used for towing a caravan a lot.

Not that the original post made much sense..but the Audi 100 is basically an early A6, correct? They're reliable cars, some good engines too.

Boring as you like to look at & drive though

The first car I ever drove was an old Lada 4x4, on a field, when I was about 11-12.

It also happens to be the worst car I've ever driven, if only briefly. The most uncomfortable one I've ever been in too.

Quote from anttt69 :Not so rare when you consider the amount of pikeys circulating our area & the fact that my car is old & I sometimes struggle with the fuel cap lock.

Hah, it took me about an hour to get the looking cap off when I brought my last car without getting fragments in the tank (no key for it, strangely). Wish I could have enlisted a pikeys help.

Playing about with the new Clio 197..suprisingly capable, low 58's and looks a bit tidier than the 206 around the bends.
