Dan, I got mine from the guy on Ebay linked to above. Arrived in ~3 days, can't complain.
£8.50 is maybe a bit steep, but they do work, once you get used to them. Does feel strange the first few laps, but my laptimes are consistantly lower since I started using it. Still not the same as using a wheel, but its a definate improvement.
My hand aches a lot less after a couple of hours racing, as you don't actually have to press down on the stick with it as well, just sorta roll your thumb side to side. I've noticed this in FPS games as well.
My car was £52 for a full tank of V-power a couple of months back, not sure how much now, not a shell station for miles. And the local Texaco is 103.9p/L for crappy stuff.
As far as I know, having more fuel in the tank increases pressure slightly, so the extra weight aside, the engine should run a tiny bit better for half a tank against a fiver in there.
So the digital counters cannot be selected on some cars now?
Sounds a bit unrealistic, the Citroen C4 I occationally drive (small hatchback, not unlike the XFG) has completely digital counters, inc speed, rev counter etc.
Just done a few laps on Road Atlanta, one thing I was very suprised by, I'm almost a second quicker with one of those "kontrolfreek" things clipped on, as opposed to without. Espically on the sweeping right-hander, and on turns 7 & 8. Still adjusting to gamepads.
Edit: Just exploring the Forza menu's, you can see the laptimes & scoreboard positions of people on your "Friends" list, so its easy to compare times in the game. Just hover over the race in time trial, hit Y, then X.
Looks like I need to fork out for some MS points when this comes out, can't wait for the old Quattro on the 'ring. Fond memories of GT4 The BMW looks lots of fun too.
Updated an hour or so ago. Its taking forever to sign into Live at the moment, but once it does everything works fine.
Pleasantly suprised with the update actually, the whole dashboard feels a lot faster, I can play back my entire collection of telly episodes streaming from the PC without 3rd party stuff (so I can finally fast-forward/rewind streaming stuff), and the menus just seem better organised.
I work saturday + sunday every week, and have done for the last couple of years. Monday is my day off at the moment, so unlike most people, I love mondays
Least I still get a lay-in on sundays, don't start till 2pm. Gives me a couple of hours to recover from sat night before an 8hr shift.
Just an observation, the game had a *lot* less faults on the Xbox 360 than on the PC. The 360 got regular new vehicles as well to boot.
I must have been one of the lucky ones though, managed to get the game running smoothly with eye-candy on, without any bugs that affected gameplay After major hickups during beta testing anyway (one channel sound springs to mind). I found the video driver version had a big affect on FPS, as much as 30-40% difference.
jibber, I agree with you for the most part. Halo 1 had a brilliant single player, lots of fun. Didn't get on so much with Halo 2, but it was brilliant for multiplayer. Halo 3 seems to have both a fantastic single player and very fun multi. I've yet to have a lag problem with it on Live as well, which is nice.
Sounds like COD4 is worth picking up though, will probably be my next game purchase.
I've been having the most fun in Halo 3 since I got mine. Not so much the single player, but for the first time I'm really experiencing an FPS game online thats a *lot* of fun.
Forza 2 is a well worthwhile purchase, easily my 2nd fav game for the 360.
Downloaded a lot of demo's, some worth mentioning:
PGR 4 (PGR3 is a lot of fun online..4 should be as well)
Skate (suprisingly fun IMO)
Flatout UC
NFS Prostreet
I did create my own XBL profile on his, which I "recovered" onto my Xbox, so it has my gamertag & achievements, but it doesn't have any of the progress I made in games under that profile. The list of achievements doesn't bother me, I just don't want to loose all the hours I've put into the game already
Finally got my own 360 + Forza 2 Have accepted "friend" requests from a couple of folks here.
Have a problem though - my career profile is stored on a mates Xbox, is there a way to transfer it to my own, so I don't have to start from scratch again?
