legend, skippy, mazda, and radical all have sequentials

the skippy supposedly needs the clutch on downshifts

The legend has a motorcycle trans in it. I've heard that you can shift without the clutch with street bikes, but you have to do it right or something...don't know much about the subject

I would assume the mazda and radical only need clutch on starts

legend car at lowe's infield is one of the best combos in the game imo

in fact I'm off to have some fun there right now I used to play there a lot before I bought the radical and skippy and sears point

it looks so dodgable from the outside...but inside the car its just like BRACE FOR IMPACT

thats what I've noticed lol. Something is so amazing in the car, and then you go back to watch the replay outside and it looks pretty mundane

I can't wait till we see body cracking and coming off along with wheels and stuff.

I have been practicing a bit with the skippy at infineon long.

I ran a 1:49.17. Not really sure how or why it was so much faster than my previous best (by a full second) but that seems to be how I'm learning the car...suddenly I just have a faster lap, and then struggle to figure out how the hell I did it.

Currently I'm messing with setup stuff and am starting to get rid of some of the ridiculous oversteer.

A couple laps after some setup changes it crashed my computer. I think it was all the alt tabbing I did while reading about wtf spring perch is...all I want is more camber, and desperately some more camber

I got more camber but am now afraid of bottoming out...time to go test.

its kinda an odd thing...I get locked in for a year and seem to lose a lot of my motivation to play

I think its because I like to mess around with the radical now instead of the legend car, and would prefer to race the solstice if it was anywhere near competative to the legend car

Also, when I didn't really have a choice...I just sat down and practiced with the solstice, now I just mess around lol.

I'm looking forward to week 14 and getting back into racing :]

What they REALLY need to do is add a super advanced solstice level...add the GXP model with the 240 horse, direct injected, turbo charged 4cylinder. Now that would be some good competition for the legend cars...(maybe)

I really love the radical now. I've made some setup adjustments throughout the day, somewhat haphazardly, but with great success. At the moment its twitchy, oversteery, and blazingly fast...it eats up the sweepers like I'd expect it to now.

The biggest thing I think was the tire pressure, less rear wing, increasing the caster, and I have it toed IN a notch...the toe is the latest adjustment, and changes everything. I tweaked the ARB also, I think less in the front...can't remember anymore haha

I don't quite know why toe in affected the car the way it did...toe in generally promotes understeer and stability in a straight line. It seemed to do the opposite.

I don't really care if its the fastest setup in the world either, I'm just driving it for my own entertainment since I don't own either of the tracks for the radical series.

they do 12 week seasons or something, maybe 4 week seasons not really sure...I've only been on for 3 weeks, but they're approaching week 13 of the semi-invitation only public release.

Week 13 they always wanted to do some more awkward and fun series's. During week 13 irating and safety rating WON'T be affected during the races, but they still strongly encourage good racing.

Week 14 should start back up with the normal series such as the rookie and advanced solstices, and maybe a few new things they have yet to announce.

I don't actually have daytona or silverstone...I just got the radical because if you get 3 things at once you get 10% off, and the radical is a badass car.

It has an aweful push at speed though. Its almost like the steering input isn't fast enough. Hand over hand to go through the esses at infineon is pretty terrible.

Comparing how it drives to the radical @ nurburgring video...it does seem a bit wrong in game.

the skippy is very difficult to drive...I haven't quite gotten it yet.

That and every time I sit down I seem to jump in the radical now

It really needs a clutch pack with some preload in there..the lift oversteer is just too much

anyone who wants to know what the lx8 would be like should drive this thing....

I just took it around laguna seca after messing around with it at infineon. I know the turns at infineon, just not how to do a proper lap yet, and I wanted to see what it could do.

I'm blown away.

Make sure if you're gonna drive the radical that you switch over to sequential gear shift mode. It is a sequential box, but the game doesn't automatically switch.

You can practically give it 100% brakes at speed and it won't lock up...you can brake so late into turn 1, from 6th to 2nd ahhhh its amazing haha I want a real one!

wow I'm tired...too much racing today lol. I lost my rhythm on about lap 10, and it was pretty scary at times. I kept running into the inside kerbs and getting sideways, and then my tires wore out...about the same with average lap time though, I guess thats good.

I did run a new pb on lap 4, 103.54, and came in 2nd overall. On lap 9 second place got in the dirt on the outside of turn one...the mistake that ruins your entire race.

Got my safety rating up to 3.42!!!!!!!!! I can now relax and make my eyes stop hurting. I think I stopped blinking or something


I'm glad it finally started pairing me with faster people. Now I get to go play in the advanced solstice and get my ass kicked

edit-- well, I took the plunge. I'm locked in for a year and am currently downloading the skippy, radical, and sears point...I cannot wait. I am seriously addicted to this thing haha.

I'm all registered for the 3:00 gmt race in 20 minutes. I need 20 clean laps here and I'll be 3.0 no problem

I wish I could just switch off my competitive side and just cruise here...but I doubt that'll happen. At least I'm feeling pretty consistent today. I think I've found a damn good line around the place, and just gotta keep from roasting the tires early (like lap 8 :shy like I did last time...I'm actually kind of hoping for a weaker field this time around, but am not really expecting it.

D: I think I might know the lapped guy you're talking about. He was actually like racing with me and wouldn't let me by. To top it off he was disappearing frequently and reappearing, like more than 15 times in one lap. Its very difficult to go through turn 1 trusting someone who you're lapping, not knowing how good they are...when you can't even see them.

I had to make a pretty difficult pass into turn 1 to get around him as well

I'm at 2.87 right now.

I was grid against some guys that were .1 and .15 faster than my qualifying time....and my qualifying time was my pb from last race. I started 3rd and had a mission...to get out in 1st and drive the wheels off the thing so I could get a lead built up. If they did turn out faster than me I wanted to be out in front where I could do some...strategic driving . I set a new pb, 103.62, with a 66 and 69 before it, and had a comfy lead most of the race.

ok what I don't understand is why wouldn't you guys want a touring car class. Something like early 90's btcc or something.

The gtr's are racecar versions of the TBO cars, and people drive both avidly...so that argument doesn't work.

The touring car would be a step in between the two.

No idea why you would want the momo over the g25...I'd at least give the g25 a try when you get the game. The momo will work fine though. There is an auto clutch mode, auto blip and everything if you want it. At the moment the clutch is pretty unnecessary anyways.

gonna go make some qualifying laps with the solstice in 10 minutes and get some safety rating points

how is the legends vs solstice gonna work?

is it adv. solstice vs rookie legends with a road race setup?

I pretty easily got down to a 56.7 around jefferson with the default adv. legends setup. From what I hear around here people are having a hard time getting into the 58's/59's with the solstice.

I just had the closest race I've ever had. It was like a 21 lap qualifying session. The furthest I ever fell back from 1st was .87, and the furthest he was ever behind me was .7, and finished .65 behind... It was non stop from lap 1.

I've never raced that hard before on a game...I mean I start out driving that hard, but usually I either slow down a bit to avoid dying, or I crash and die.





I smashed my old PB by .35 too, thats always nice.

It is a seriously difficult track to pass on...the only place I found was into turn 1 and late braked a bit from the inside. I finally had a good enough run. I was .2 off his bumper goin into the last corner, and caught a slight run to pull up a bit next to him. We were so equal in the uphill and the west bend, and the last corner that we pretty much just stayed the same unless one of us made a slight error.

I was faster in turn one, and am pretty sure the rest of our laps were identical. I was braking a bit deeper into turn one, and it helped me gain some time back. I also pushed it a bit harder through the next turn, but he had more exit speed goin towards the uphill most times. Especially if I had to feather the gas to keep from hitting him/sliding out of control

I had 26% tread left on my right front, and the left front was like 220 degrees...I'm glad the race finally ended lol. It was getting a bit difficult towards the end with worn tires.

I've still got till like august 8th for mine...I really want to do a full year, even to just get the extra money to spend on the content...I think thats the only way I would get anything extra.

I'm kinda cheap though

with $75 extra with the year subscription I could get the skippy, infineon (god its only 30 minutes from my house...killing me not to have it in game), and the daytona prototype when they finish it.

ugh...I just checked, I thought it was like $130...its $156 $13 a month I guess..just gotta keep thinkin about it like that
