Soon, or maybe not so soon, all the Z stats will be cleared/reset ready for the next official LFS release tee hee hee.
although I expect travled distance and fuel, laps etc will stay like the last LFSW reset.
Maybe I am confused, you say a year ago, your account was hacked? and you have been using it for 12 months without changing the password?
You are responsible for making a password that is hard to guess and for looking after it.
I also think giving your account details to other LFS users is against the terms that you agreed to when you purchased a licence.
If you do buy another S2 licence, make a hard password and keep it to yourself, also don't use a hotmail account with a soft pass either as it seems MSN hotmail and messenger like so many other MS products have security problems and make you an easy target.
Can we get away from slagging off each others countrys and get back to helping the OP who came here to this LFS racing forum!
I think you do have to drive over the limit to find the edge of the cars capabilities, but the best way to get quicker laps at any combo is to work the other way and go form slower times and keep trying faster and faster apex speeds until you hit your taget lap times, however you need to mentally learn the track until you can lap confidently and in total control of the car.
If you join a populated server and ask for help, depending on the server you should get some good advice, its also good to spectate some of the cars to watch how others deal with overtaking (lines etc) I find its easyer to learn from driving with others than on my own
By all means pop into the T7R Teamserver if you see it in the list I feel confidant that any one of our members would gladly spectate you and give live feedback and advice
The best advice in this thread was "get a FF wheel"
Unfortunatly this is not correct in LFS the lead car gains no advantage in speed at this time.
Now that really made me laugh
The problem with drafting irl comes in the additional heat produced for the following car, with a "racing car" the cooling system for the engine and brakes can't do its job well without "clean air" this is what we will see hopefully in future LFS release, meaning longer braking distances and eventually premature engine falure for cars that choose to stay in the draft and stupidly bang into the car infront.
people keep saying its legitimate and used IRL, however I really think its not as common as people seem to believe, also its the sort of thing that will get you disqualified in most racing disiplines.
As people have said before if you are good enough, you dont need to cheat by using a glitch in the simulation software, and you end up feeling better about your own ability as a "clean" driver.
Did you visit www.wingmanteam.com and install the logitech gaming software?
that should be all you need, you should install this before plugging in your wheel it supports both the red and black Momo wheels and W7 uses the vista driver just fine.
@ Logitekg25, all versions of vista, above home-basic that are purchased with a new PC will be eligable for a free upgrade to W7 in october I would look around at other PC makers other than Dell, there are some great bargains to be had
Yes I had the same problem after re-installing the OS, I find its better (for me) to globally max out the quality settings in the display driver control panel (AA +AF etc)
I think the "let application decide" settings are sometimes ignored by the GFX driver if another setting is set to performance or what not.
I think this is more a problem with ATI than LFS
It would be better if you posted the replay, do you have tyres locked up at point of impact? how much faster are you than normal at this point?, would you have made the corner without his impact?
I was thinking of adding my results and set about re-installing my XP64 yesterday, however after numerious bootloader problems I ended up reinstalling all my OS's onto seperate drives (not partitions on same drive) today, I'm still restoring stuff now
Have you tried installing a new fresh LFS in a folder on your desktop (or your system drive) and just copying your skins, setups, cfg file etc across, you will probably have to unlock LFS again, but at least W7 will know its all meant to be accessed because you will have extracted it there, instead of just moving it, if you get my drift.
Worth a try
I have known people have this prob on older OS's, I used to see one or two regulars drop off the ctra server everytime it changed track
You can if you have the same version the replay was made in.
What version of LFS are you using? have you downloaded any of the test patches? if so you just need to go back to the official Z 0.5 ALPHA version, repeat the lap, then upload as normal
I doubd that official LFS tech will give (sell) a licence for less than stated amount, they are a bussiness after all.
You never know galies may post back saying all is good, if not however, in this single instance, I would be happy to pay the outstanding 16p required to make it up.
If a dev is reading this, and its possible, please PM or mail me, I think I can just send it in the post, with a link to this thread and the OPs account name "galies" on the back of the cheque, or maybe just the cash
As long as your money order was in GBP, I would imagine it takes up to 3 working days, after your money order is recieved and banked, it could take a little more.
Credit card payments online, are dealt with almost instantly.
EDIT: C & P from lfs.net site............ (this example is for S2@£24GBP)
"As soon as your money order has arrived, your payment will be visible on your status page. Your payment status will show 'Received' until the money order has been cleared by the bank, after which your account will be upgraded to S2 licensed."
So you downloaded LFS (the full version) and it wont extract properly on your W7 desktop.
If you still have the original Zip7 file (LFS_S2_ALPHA_Z) try making a new folder on your desktop first then move the zip7 file into that and double click it then just click run, then extract without altering the destination, if you get the same result (not supported archive) try again but this time right click it and choose "run as admin".
You may have to re-download LFS again, it may be a corrupted archive.
