Could it be heat? When was the last time you cleaned the dust off the fans inside your PC?

does it do this if you run just LFS Z without any test patches?

Do you play any other games? any probs in any of those?

does "dxdiag" pass all the tests?

Whats your OS and PC specs?

Good luck

Quote from S14 DRIFT :I'll do without a wheel till I can afford something better than Logitech, after their customer service, I'll probably get a Fanatec or just not bother. I'm done with Logitech lmao.

Logitech, bad customer service?
Whys that S14, they will replace any faulty product normally pretty quick too, they do ask that you destroy (or make unusable) any faulty HW and not say you did then sell it, it seems quite simple to me

Get yourself a wheel soon Jamie, its no fun without!

After reading this thread it has got me a little interested, Im downloading the rfactor demo as we speak my question is, how easy will it be to set up my G25 so I get a "realistic feel" I take it the demo doesn't come with any realfeel or historyX mods? or will it work out without adding mods?

The thing about LFS that I like so much is the FF feels right without having to install anything extra, every other Sim I have tried with the exception of GPL maybe, just feels wrong,
I dont have alot of time to trawl forums looking for ways to "edit config files" or "set nagative values" I have done this and tried lots of FF settings with games before, I just want it to feel realistic, so I can get racing

I will post back on my experiance with the latest Rfactor demo, no doubt in a few pages time

You could try reinstalling/updating your DirectX and your GFX card drivers.

try start/run type dxdiag and press enter, then run all the tests and see if anything is flagged as not working correctly.

it could be just a simple corrupt file, did you install anything just before this started to happen HW or SW?

Good luck

IIRC by default in the top right of the screen is displayed the current time from the start of the lap (for the player you are veiwing) and in the top left the FPS. its all configurable in the options.

I have a reasonable size HDD on my gaming PC and have always set recording replays to auto.

Good luck.

I think it looks great, really nice job

have you thought about fitting a "woo woo" or a "nee naa"?

most people who have S2 take the racing/drifting/crusing alot more seriously than in the demo.

+ you get all the added web benefits, avatar sig lfsWorld etc.

Dont forget if you want to auto-download High res skins you will need at least an extra £1 in your LFS account

Restart your PC, that fixed it for me last time I had this.

I don't think its relevant however ***(I was using testpatch Z13 when I consistantly had "could not recieve....")***

Im also using G25, without profiller, (just latest wingmanteam drivers) under XPHome, XP64 Vista and Win7, I have to admit Im not very good at drifting, but Ive experianced no problems with any of the Z testpatches.

Good luck, I hope the fresh copy of LFS will fix your issues.

I do make a point of re-calibrating my wheel & pedals, inside LFS when I start it, everytime.

Maybe just get a used momo or DFP or something, from e-bay, then re-sell it it 4 months?

Could be another LFS'er lives near enough to you and has spare (old) wheel to lend/rent? that would be lucky

goodluck

In LFS options/Controllers/Ctrl+ and Alt+ you can assign wheel buttons to any message that you want. this only works with wheel/pad, so not available if you use KB and mouse.

Hope this helps.

Too much gas at the start, too high revs damage the engine if sustained for too long

EDIT: Sorry didn't realise, as Jason points out below, only reving over the limiter (change down too early) will make engin damage..

Hope this helps,

Some servers have strict rules for flags, but we all have to learn to race together, and I don't mind backmarkers, it just makes racing more interesting

let people know on the servers that you are new and some may offer help, send you a good setup or offer to spectate you and give you some advice on where you can make up some speed

More so in S2 servers

Just a thought...

Are you using a wheel and pedals set? , it could be that the gas pedal is only coming on halfway?

In LFS options/display, you can set "show pedals" to yes, this will give you a realtime graphical display at the bottom right of the screen, if your getting full gas or brake a little white top will show at the top of the red/green bars.

EDIT: Dan you type too fast.

Hi Simon, Welcome to the forums, If you want a quick fix you can just make a new folder and download LFSZ into the new folder, run it to extract the files, and then you can unlock it when you first run it.

This will not in any way change or mess up the LFS you already have, you will be able to run either one.

If the gears are all wrong you could have burn't out the clutch (press F9 to see tyres info & clutch bar, red is hot)

Goodluck

Quote from Shadowww :GeSTure, actually.

Could you link to where you got that from Shadoww?

I'm sure I remember in an older version of LFS (possibly pre S1), when spectating another driver the wheel would move on its own not sure it was a feature

The oil on the sea and debris that is now not thought to be from the plane, was spotted/found closer to Brazil than where the radar contact was lost, suggesting that the search area will have to be enlarged or relocated/calculated.

I hope they do find the black boxes, but fear they will not.

I would remove the gfx drivers all of them (using the cleaning tools) then install 1 new clean driver.

Sounds like the "guy at the shop" just did a quick job and didn't do a format and clean install, and thinking about it a format and clean install is really the way to go.

you do mean the 64bit vista version right?

quick search threw up this one, is this the same version number as the one you tried already?

Shift+F9-F12 if you mean ingame,

if you mean your desktop, then change resolution (right click desktop/properties/display) change resolution, click ok, if it dosent work it should revert back in 15 secs or so, then try a different res, your monitors will have an amount of pixels, set resolution to that and leave it, unless text ect is too small

Good spot BigPeBe
I believe on that chipset you can increase(via bios) in steps to 512 I would suggest trying 128 to test for any improvment.

@OP have you installed any "texture packs" in LFS?

mrodgers only just saw your post, good info.

I always shop on e-bay for older HW
