logitech should really make a small cable extension pack or dock, so you could have the wheel with just a short set of cables (say 300mm) and another longer set wired into the desktop with a simple dock type multi plug/socket to join them.
With that sort of setup, people could make all sorts of adjustable wheel mounts be it sliding, tilting, swivel or just completely remove, the connectiing cables (from wheel to pedals & wheel to supply/usb) would not suffer from all the twisting damage I've seen in some wheels.
Maybe its been looked at and disregarded for whatever reason, but I bet many would pay for the option when buying new or even as a 3rd party product.
Has anyone else noticed the big flying black ants landing everywhere today and yesterday? Every year they come out on a hot & humid day here in the UK.
Horrible things they shed their wings and crawl around the garden looking for somewhere nice to start a nest.
Do you think the same about offensive images too? that people should teach kids what they mean?
I wasn't actually offended by the name thunderhead posted, I thought it was imature, but hardly offensive, I have seen much worse nicks than that, however I still think clearly offensive names and language should not be allowed here, its just common sense where young childern are involved, IMO.
This is a public forum, do you not think children play computer games or browse game forums?
fair enough if this site was limited to over 18s, your argument would be valid.
The vulgar language and pictures like the one above (reported) are offensive especially to children, I don't want my kids to see that sort of thing, anyone with children, would I hope agree.
I'm not stupid, I know soon enough my kids will be teenagers and exposed to bad language etc, but I have to try to do the right thing and lead by example.
Ahh yes sorry, it couldn't have sunk in when I read "the voyager only has one ethernet port" in your 1st post no point trying it if you only have the single rj45 port.
I said my prob was intermittant, however I didn't log the time between disco's, although more frequent than 60 mins, Ill check for a pattern, I will also try messing around with the qos again, and also the wireless security, I might try just running an open network too (short term just for testing)
I think with some Billion routers you can set advance qos options to give higher priority to a specific PC or service, worth a look I suppose.
Please excuse the spelling, grammar, and punctuation in my last post (and all my posts ) I really must try to be more awake when posting
Very interesting, the phrase "clutching at straws" made me grin, I use that one alot myself
I have a similar but more intermittant problem, I was certain it was a prob with my router, and a couple of months ago set about testing with other makes, but since most of the devices and PC's in my house connect wirelessly all the routers I have tested have had wlan included.
Before my wife and kids started getting wireless laptops, Wii, mobile phones and ipods my lan was totally cabled and was rock solid lol.
wjm, have you tried installing your non wireless router and the running a downlink to the wireless one? assuming it supports it and both are compatable this might isolate the "bad" router from dropping the connection or part of it from the top tier router (connected to your LFS PC).
As I said your symptoms sound very similar to mine with only LFS seeming to lose connection and http seemingly unnafected.
I have had my fair share of mainstream routers fail in the last 10 years I am considering trying a more professional industrial one however I don't have time to rewire my LAN for a few months and it does need it
With no contact from other cars I would expect 0 spins and never more than 2 wheels of the track (tarmac) at any time, if one cannot control the car, one should not be racing it.
As far as contact is concerned I want to say zero contact is acceptable as thats how I race, but many here would say "rubbing is racing" and in a lag free world this would be ok, the slightest rub combined with online lag (only made worse by aireo (IMO)) can turn into a massive force throwing someone off track or into the barriers.
In short all contact should be avoided, especially bumpdrafting, and people should always be in control or their car.
The safest drivers are the ones who look back at you as you look at them while you are passing the look left/right keys are often forgotten by some and they drive like they hotlap, without a care for others "space to race".
sounds like you are stalling the car, press "I" to start the engine again, and use lots of revs when you release clutch in 1st, until you get used to it.
So the wheel, pedals and shifter all working ok now?
In LFS if you click the little "I" next to the clutch axis it will invert the axis so it works properly IIRC I had to do this with all pedals.
if you go into the windows control panel and go to game controllers, select the g25 properties, you should be able to check that all the buttons and gears are working correctly.
Sounds like the shifter might not be working properly, can you physically put the stick into every gear?
global options in profiller, or in windows control panel device properties you need to change throttle and brake from combined axis to seperate axis, also check in lfs that seperate axis is selected.
Have you set the shifter into H mode, you have to twist 180deg the bit on the shifter to change between seq and H pattern
It can be hard to twist, just wiggle the stick a bit as you do it.
Maybe it is set to H already and you can select all 6 gears?
if so put it back to seq then H again on the shifter, just so you know its in place then try again.
