I think 'technical' is put to the test if you have a track that is something like that of Fern Bay where you have very small straights, a tight track, bumps, rises, etc....
Personally I think the only technical tracks in LFS are Fern Bay and South City. I believe it was Fetzo that explained he still prefers the S1 tracks over the newer S2 tracks, and I agree with that... because I prefer technical tracks more than anything. Just because you drive on the limit (at the oval?) doesn't mean it is necessarily technical. I think what most of us are looking for is a track that is very enjoyable with regard to how active you are in the car while driving. And quite frankly, all the S2 tracks (KY, AS, WE) have NOT given me the best impression of a technical track. They are very wide/broad tracks, smooth, and have very little tight sections or fun chicane complexes. They are just one corner after the other, with a sense of 'break time' in between... leaving no rapid connection of technical driving at all (ok, there can be some exceptions with straightaways being a common piece of a track, however, it is too common and relaxed even when you try for a world record. There is just too much time to setup for corners on the S2 tracks (IMO, the S2 tracks are intended for the BF1, but they still need more slow sections)).
No wonder why so many people want a Nordschleife type track, or apline backroads course... it is because those tracks deliver the most excitement for a lot of drivers. It's obvious if you have a beatiful sports car and you see a nice open twisty country road... your reaction will be to enjoy that drive because it feels so untouched and you can thrash the car around however you feel like it. Now with respect to racing, a technical track would be very intense against other opponents, but that is not to say passing would be impossible, it would probably be very fun to maintain the limit on a track like I've described. So, the S2 tracks we have hardly give me any enjoyment in the racing, and there could really still be some improvements made to them in my opinion.

If I could, I would've voted for Longer Tracks also, but it was only a single choice. I don't care of the track is long or short, I just really would like it to have some very good sequence of corners and complexes that make it very technical. Even if we had a tarmac version of Fern Bay RallyX Green... I would deem that a very good technical track simply because it starts with a very tight entry into the very tight esses which have high bumpy curbs, leading to quite a bit of bumpy surfacing and a hop/jump which leads to an immediate right hand turn. In a sense that track already poses a significant technical challenge in only 30 some-odd seconds. If we had a track with a bunch more sections like that, I would be in heaven.

That is going a bit too far with some pretty simplistic merchandise.... or any future kind for that matter.

Thx guys, and Happy Anniversary!!! I am glad you guys are still around and providing this hemisphere with great racing in our timezones, nothing else matches up to LOTA for North America.
It has been a while since I've last driven competitively (LOTA, then 24h MOE race)... and I do feel like I want to make a comeback, but I am really waiting for LFS to change in any way shape or form, just so it can invite me back with ease, rather than knowing I'll be coming back to age old stuff
. Because it would be fun to have newer tracks to compete on, you know? Just getting old for me I guess. But I do have hopes to come back!!!

Passing my time with other games, and other things. As for the forums? I am trying to stay away from here more than ever, I just don't find anything interesting here anymore other than the few odd skins I look for. All else is just junking this place up

I opted not to stay up late and watch it live, simply because I had a feeling that the Qualifying results would just reflect the finishing positions anyways.... and sure enough, they were the same... so the race wasn't all that interesting was it? Just people staying in front and no passing?

Yeah NoGrip is the best one I find. They are the ones that have the 'illegal' conversions that rFactorcentral and RSC don't allow.
Solberg may be fast next year, you never know. Subaru will have a new car, remember that

Yeah after I learned how the game worked, I now know not to start with crap drivers and teams to try and save money. All those who bought Hamilton really lucked out 
I wish the game had a little bit more added on the things to buy, maybe a sponsor.... like the main sponsor each team uses (eg Marlboro, Petronas, Vodafone, Red Bull, ING, etc).

How will McLaren results be affected? Do the points/money earned have anything to do with Constructor Points? (eg McLaren ) Or is it just purely race results.

I think their punishment will probably be disallowing McLaren to be in the manufacturers championship. I don't think the drivers should be penalized, the manufacturer should.

Why does it look like you inverted the image? As if the skin was already using other colors (because original is the proper one it seems)? Black inverted looks terrible.

It is a very good gaming mouse for FPS games and such. But things I dislike about it are the 'coating' is uses on the dark parts your fingers rest on. If you knick that coating onto something like the edge of your desk/table, it can start to tear off. Once that happens, it starts to peel, and you have a really rabid looking mouse. Sucks. Also the red "butt" on the end of the mouse shows way too much LED lighting, and it shines right in my eyes when I lay down on my bed away from the computer. I'd much rather prefer a mouse like my old Logitech one, but nowadays they are just coming up with weird designs that hurt my hand.
2 thumb buttons is a MUST for BF2, or any FPS game really. I still like the Intellimouse, is a common mouse for gamers... it just has some issues, like any other mouse does really.
The Habu looks stupid imo. Their gaming hardware is far too overpriced. I own the Reclusa keyboard too, and while it was expensive and not entirely worth the money, it still is a solid keyboard with fairly good functions. Design was ok, but software for the device is really lacking. Logitech definitely beats Microsoft with their software for their peripherals.
OH OH, also to note, Laser Mice SUCK for FPS gaming. They are very sensitive to the surface you use it on, and so sensitive, that even a spec on the mousepad or whatever will cause it to jump farther than you really want it too. A standard high DPI optical mouse is perfect, you don't need Laser for gaming. I have a few friends that were Quake 2 champions over here on the West Coast, and they went and got Laser mice and absolutely hated them... they switched back to optical.

Yeah use a 32-bit OS for now.
I'm sticking with XP until 2008 like spankmeyer says... because SP1 patch for Vista is expected in Q1 2008 (not new features, just bug fixes, etc)... and that is when DX10 is expected to really hit the market. A fresh/new install of Vista for the new year is what I am planning to do. Still, I don't like Vista anyways... it's just a "cool" glamorized/glittered version of XP, it's nothing special, it really isn't. If you want raw speed and performance on your desktop/apps, use XP. Gaming in XP vs. Vista is really an even comparison I'd say. Some people report better performance in XP still, and some report better performance in Vista. It's really no big deal, and at best, only 10 FPS gained or lost either way. But I have a very similar system to what you ordered Bladey, and I can say that you WONT be complaining about FPS @ max graphics
Atm I use 64-bit XP, and it runs fine (absolutely no issues), but Vista 64-bit runs into tons more issues with software at the moment.... it's best to avoid it. The only reason I use 64-bit is because I want the most out of my 4gig of RAM.... that's all.
