I think we have to 'Allow to Register' each person that comes in Mika. If you made the option for people to register on their own, I think this might be easier.
Just like I posted before the 12 hours of Kyoto GP race, I want to put down some notes here to remind all the teams of what to prepare for.
Read through our rules and make sure you understand everything regarding the race procedures and behaviour.
You can communicate with other teams and admins in the MoE IRC channel on GameSurge @ #moe. If you have a complaint during the race, contact any admin present via the LFS Forum through PM, or on IRC. If it is a crash complaint, you need to have a replay handy, and submit your complaint within 1 hour.
Admins and other teams may also be on our new Teamspeak server. IP: 85.25.146.202:2007 - PW: moe
You can use Race Spectator v0.2 to connect to the MOE server and spectate the drivers with a simple bird's eye view. Relay Host: lfs.net | Relay Port: 47474
And you all think 'normal' drifting is kept to drift circuits safely out of harms way? Whatever happened to illegal racing, drifting, drag, etc...
It's very ludicrous to count this as being dangerous, and give it such a hard time... Especially to call this a 'fad'?? This forum couldn't get any more conceited.
Still, everyone ranting here about real saudi drifting is completely off topic, and totally ruining what is just a simple video post.
And no need to get on the ego bandwagon and start talking about "oh learn to properly drift", or "Oh the video isn't worth watching, because I call myself a pr0 drifter who makes better movies".
Personally, I like watching any video of people driving a sim with their steering wheel. Always a pleasure to watch.
I have just gone through everyone's posts to check for the correct format.
It is very important that everyone has the proper format for each driver. Remember, please do not put any dashes, periods, country abbreviations, or extra spaces in each line. Also, if you add a driver and/or reserve, just add it to your original post (to keep a complete list) and make a new post to tell us.
The proper format is simple:
LFS Username, Real Name, Country
Please go through and double check all of your drivers, to make sure the information is correct. This will help avoid any issues during the race, when the tracker needs to be fixed.
Phil, you may want to correct the list on your side .
In order to be fast and error free in LFS, you gotta use 270 degrees, paddle shifters, and 2 pedals. Simple as that.
I'd use other control types as a challenge sure... but it is just not competitive enough in LFS, and not fun at all because of that. If people using h-shifters can be competitive, then I'd be using mine more often. Until then, speed and consistency is the only way to win
(I use h-shifter in singleplayer, when I just want to dick about)
I like BMW simply because they've been progressing to be better and better each race. I root for them to win a race, they are no doubt the 3rd best team of the 2007 season.
Since BMW Williams, they haven't been as strong when they had Ralf and Montoya then...
So they've been picking up the pieces and building a nice car and a nice team I'd say. But McLaren and Ferrari will always be faster. I hope Renault gets back into the mix in 2008, kind of stupid seeing them run so poorly this year.
Batracer got a little ridiculous after a while, and still is...
We had lots of LFS community private games, but they were so boring and pointless. Batracer is a huge waste of time. Meh... stick to racing a simulation imo
What I cant seem to get my head around is the fact that S2 licensed drivers always believe that once someone is licensed, they never go back to demo, and use their license as a safe haven from wreckers. Totally untrue.
I've heard quite a few (ok not "a lot") people say "lets go on demo" in a S2 server or teamspeak/ventrillo server.... I join where they are playing, and they are just wrecking people for a good laugh. Other times it is wrecker vs wrecker.
I have the utmost confidence that a suggestion like this would never appear in LFS. What you are saying is that LFS will need to handle 2 completely different instances of people racing online in one server. Also further detaching people from an online experience, and less of a realistic feel when the actual race is in progress. Quite frankly, if you are so upset about people coming on the track and getting in the way, you don't need to go and suggest that they be 'invisible' or impossible to collide with. Do we get to collect coins and power-ups too?
Watch out buddy, he dropped a banana on turn 3!
People getting in the way of your race is not that much of an issue to warrant this suggestion.
Sad thing is, a lot of S2 licensed users are going in and crashing people in Demo. I've caught a few. But there are lots that hide their name, it is all too easy
Not really impressed with the video myself, but hey, short production time, so what
But Jack replied to my comment about the fast playback....
Why don't you do it like all the other real vids, where one car goes, and the camera watches -that car-, and then the next.... etc. So you get a feel of how slow/fast each car is in different sections of the track. Then show the progress of the cars behind catching up. All pretty simple.
The video on Bathurst is a perfect example. And you don't need a music track in my opinion.
No invisible or transparent cars, invisible sessions, or anything of that nature please. Keep the track alive, and not suddenly have people off the track practicing in some invisible mode, or cars with no collision mesh. How would you have replays? LFS isn't in two worlds....
