Googled around for alternatives to GPL, I think. Came across some LFS info before the first alpha release. Hung around for the first release and stuck with it since. The first years were VERY exciting! It's still the sim I come back to occationally. It's still like coming home

Quote from Tinytacohead :Nice atledreier. I hope to get one myself @ some point. Really wish they were available with a sunroof though, even if it adds a few little weight up top.

The pic's labeled MX3 & I have to agree with him.. one of the best FWD's out there! (looks to be a V6 as well, which is a must in stock form)

Klutch.. I know you "don't care", but I agree with everybody else, lol. Used to think it had potential too, and then you started fiddling with it.

I REALLY love to drive this thing. I look for any excuse for a detour into the twisties! Every roundabout is a playground, every corner makes me smile. The redline beckons and my tirebudget skyrocket..

Did you try it on a proper track and/or a nice road? This car just isn't about the straights....

Sueycide: Having many around doesn't detract from the fact it's a damn fine platform.
Scrabby, you have one too?

Yeah, it's no torque monster, but it keeps putting that torque down right up to the redline, so the pull is decent. Also makes the revlimiter somewhat easy to hit inadvertently since you don't notice the engine running out of breath like most cars. I've set the shift light and buzzer at 6500 to give me almost 1000rpm warning until the limiter hits.

Also loving the controllability. The ass wants to step out, but it does so in such a progressive and easy to handle way that even me who've only ever driven fwd adn awd can cope easily. Even my wife tried a little powerslide and came back with a HUGE grin on her face! :-D

So this is purgatory, then? Just like LOST? Cool. I wish we were on a tropical island though, tired of freezing snow and wind....

The sun blew up at 12:11, but it takes a little time for the energy to get here. Give it a few minutes, we'll all burn!

I don't notice much blur. Whats your framerate? I run pretty solid 60fps and haven't noticed exaggerated blur, just some nice DOF effects.

Forgot about this thread.

Got the car to weeks ago, just in time for the biggest snowfall ever recorded in my area. Roads are clearing up now, and this car is truly a bundle of fun! Even in my daily commute I find I steer the car with my right foot. Not just skidding around, but making the car turn more or less by just applying a little throttle. Very, very nice!

My Mazda had a 'flat shift' system where the ECU lowered the rev limit while the clutch was depressed. I had it set at 5500rpm. The purpose is to not close the throttle valve and thus not creating a backwash in the intake, stalling the turbine. That revlimiter retarded ignition significantly and made the car spit flames. The same system also worked as a kind of launch control, if you like. Worked like a charm on a high-lag car like the Mazda 323GTR.

And this drives the compressor to the point of positive boost pressure? So you have created a perpetuum mobile?

Quote from Tommy :
notice that when you turn off the ignition and press accelerator RPM's drop but the turbo pressure raises/stays at max (same as in reality).

How do you explain this? If you are talking about vacuum then this will at best rise to 0mBar, but not beyond.

Well, we are getting bucketloads at the moment. They are predicting around 2ft of snow here today.

Good thing I picked up my new car yesterday. Rwd with LSD is mighty fun in these conditions! :-D

Had some snow last week, then thaw and rain. Froze over again now, so everything is glazed over and plain dangerous. Not even fun to drive on, sailing out of control doing 5kph...
