That because both the fence and the smoke/skidmarks use alpha channels. You can only have one of those under DX7, and the closest one is the fence, so... Until we get a more advanced renderer we're stuck with that. Not a big problem, imo.

Yeah, well..

I changed my plans and cancelled my order. I went for an XFX 8800GTX instead.. It's cheaper than two GT by a fair bit, and will give me a better upgrade path. I'm thinking of adding another GTX in the not too distant future.

I just ordered two, so we'll see what they can do in a few days. Can't wait!

Going from 2 XFX 7900GTX, so the extra power should be noticeable, and I will get DX10 capabilities along with the new features of the 8xxx range.

My first thought when I saw your video was 'That G25 looks very very slow'. Don't know why, but I feel my wheel is faster than that. Gonna go test it right now and see. I know in the LX6 I can let the wheel go and it sorts itself out. Also, be aware that not all cars will right themselves in all situations if you let the wheel go. The RX-7 I drive will often do exactly like in the vid when driven poorly. So don't blame the wheel for everything. Some cars are just too out of shape to be brought back with the wheel alone, they need weight transfer (throttle use).

They stopped selling Wagon wheels here many years ago. They are still my main reason to go to the UK.

6DOF is incorporated in LFS now, so just put the thing on your head and drive. Simple as that.

it's a gokart track originally, but we use it for local track meets. It's called 'Reve motorpark', in southwestern Norway. It's a fun track, but very tight. Only manage about 140kph in the RX-7 on the back straight. The braking after that straight is real scary. It's over a small crast, so the actual corner is blind, and the car gets real light. The sandtrap there has killed it's fair share of bumpers.

I agree. It would be better to put a sim driver in a real car, IMO. Which, incidentally, is how I'm making my mod.

He was 4490g, that's about 10lbs, and 52cm long. So quite a stocky fellow..

I know, BuddhaBing! Even though this is our third child, we still get that. Don't worry, as soon as you hear that little thing cry the first time, it was all worth it!
It's like.. you MADE that thing! That's worth more than all the WRs in the world!

Yaaaay!

Finally the long awaited ( and dreaded) day arrived! A textbook birth (2,5 hours) and a perfect little creature that grabbed my finger and looked at me as soon as he was born!

Just had to get it out!

Nice video, Niels! Love teh car, and I have confirmed before that it feels very much like a sporty car on track, on street tires and all...

You really know how to explain stuff to the layman. You a teacher, by chance? Anyways, your reflections seems logical and they support what I feel whan I drive my car. Let's hope Scawen reads these threads (I suspect he does).

The RX-7 I drive has quite a violent lift-off oversteer, and also will lock the rear tires (not lock them per se. but they will brake to the extent of losing traction) is I downshoft too soon. The lift-off feels like the outside front 'digs in' and the rear goes light. However, in a track situation the outside front often as not overloads when I lift off, and the front wash out, just like the C6 does. I'd say it feels pretty good.

without having measured the torque neede to hold a turn while the car is understeering, I'd say the 'going light' feeling is the fact that it's not taking MORE torque to hold the turn beyond a certain point. Akin to the 'car speeding up on grass' theory.
