If I understand you right then you both using your single license together online wich is against the LFS license agreement and then you ask for an improvement of that?

Or if I missunderstood that and you both have a license then the easy way is to have 2 LFS folders 1 for each license. Simple as that.

And btw:
How would you spend more money on double downloading the skins (except you have a transfer limited account) as it works in the background and you are already online.
Last but not least you can copy the skins for free from one LFS folder into the 2nd LFS folder.

In other words:
There is no need for such an improvement.

Quote from DaveWS :
Does anyone know if textures can be edited?

from their FAQ
Quote :Is there any content that we're allowed to mod?
No. As clearly stated in the End User License Agreement, iRacing.com content cannot be modded. To even attempt to do so is a direct violation of the agreement. Again, the content can only be used by registered members within the iRacing service.

IDE or SATA?

If SATA (II) then I can warmly recommend the
500 GB Samsung HD501LJ
(Samsung SpinPoint T166 HD501LJ 500GB SATA-II NCQ 16MB)

It's a discontinued model but still available in many shops
(the new version is I think called: Samsung HD502IJ, 500GB, 16MB)

The HD501LJ is the best HDD I've ever had.

It's really quiet and fast too.

But the best part is:
It always stays cool (~ 42°to 43°) also under really heavy load in my server and the gaming PC.
All other HDDs I have and had were usually going up to ~47° till 53°. And 5 to 10 degrees is enormous for me

I have some different settings here (but it's just personal likings)

Wheel turn: 240
Wheel turn compensation: 1.00
Force strenght: 20

In the Sidewinder software

Wheel performance : Custom
Sensitivity: High
Return to Center: High

Did you created a profile for LFS in the Sidewinder software? (I bet you did but I better ask)
Else the settings can't be stored anywhere.

I sometimes have it that settings feel strange (are not there) but that only happens when I turn on the power of the wheel after I started LFS.
So for me it is always like: First power up the wheel, then LFS and everything is fine.

Quote from Octane :
the other thing is, LFS crashes for me (exits to desktop) everytime i do this :

- go to multiplayer-menu from main-menu
- display list of hosts, wait for the list to finish loading
- don´t enter any host and click "back" button to go back to multiplayer-menu
- press "back" again in this menu
--> LFS crashes, but ONLY if i watched a MPR or SPR before these actions, if i go to the multiplayer-menu directly, everthing is fine
EDIT: LFS just crashed for me without watching a replay first...

I had (I think) the almost exact same reproducable problem ("back" button etc. like you described it) some patches ago. After a complete fresh install it was gone and never happend again.

Found it: It was with X35 see the crash address thread:

Should we all forget about this way to switch between cars or it is a bug? I can work with the car changing with TAB and SHIFT + TAB but on a endurance races where u need to swap with your mate how are we going to adress the swap request? :S I hope You understand what i meant

Well in a race you would usually have no replay controls

Edit: to slow

I think if the community brought some concrete information to the devs about tracks that are willing to let their track be published for free personally I think the devs would love the idea.

Unfortunatly you are wrong with your thoughts (maybe not completly but):

NVIDIA GF 8500 GT
NVIDIA GF 6800 GS
NVIDIA GF FX 5900

no ATI for me, sold a lot of them, placed it in many PCs but never bought one myself
(I think started to not like them when I first had trouble with the drivers, many many years ago ).

I would have posted the same replay (like zeugnimod).
Especially lap 8 was great. 2 teams doing (just a little) double bumpdrafting on the long BL1 straight. Was good fun.

I had the same problem with my 2nd PC Athlon 64 3500+ (2,2GHz CPU)
XP needs about 54 seconds and Vista took 11 Minutes.

Some say it's caused by the "Superfetch" feature from Vista but I bet it's a hidden feature in Vista to convince people to buy new hardware

Maybe some fine tuning can help you:

Quote from Don :if i may give you some advices:
- use some of the default skins, they look better than a grid full of plain cars (i believe there are some hires default skins in the hires skypack)

In general a good advice but that wouldn't match the requirements

Screens must be taken of default LFS...
