Hah, must be around 600whp, with a LSD and hardcore slicks. Very nice, but I've never been a fan of a dubb being that fast, they don't turn. Nice video tho, love to see a sick fast dubb. Quicker than mine, but I mostly invested in suspension, brakes, rebuilt engine, supercharger, I built the car to handle outstanding and have enough power to eat up evo's and sti's, some porches too, the handling is just too good. My Saab on the other hand, is an absolute monster, I invested double the $. Handles like a dream and quick enough to beat a M3 from a roll, perhaps a M5. You're stuck in the seat through every gear, damn good fun. Nothing like the KB Cobra, but pretty awesome for a Saab, and the GTI. Again, dope vid. I have gigs of video's of VR's and Saabs, and hundreds of vids of Terminator Cobra's, many like mine, with the Kenne Bell blower. Maybe we could start a thread of badass cars!
You mean the cars I posted? They couldn't be further from rice... The Focus ST perhaps, but those wheels match the car so well, if it were my car I'd use them without a doubt.
The only other cars you could mean are mine, and they're not ricers, if that's what you think, you know nothing about cars.... What, I'm supposed to have a near 400whp car heavy, small wheels? Lighter, wider rims are the way to go. If you weren't referring to my cars, sorry, never mind. Lol, I've never had my cars called ricers, and if I did, I'd pull out my near 600HP Kenne Bell Cobra, simple.
My BOV is nothing like any of that, it's extremely loud, and is over with quickly. Kinda like a, PITSHIIII. It scares the hell out of ppl walking down the street. I wish my cam worked I'd take a ride. I have a video of the engine popped revving, maybe one of you can spot the BOV. I'll edit this post with that video, gimme a few mins, I'll throw in my VR6 engine rev too. Prob is I can't build enough boost simply revvin it to get the loud blowoff, and my cam no longer works.
I don't get it, nobody here has ever heard a blow off that doesn't go pshhhhh, but rather a very very loud release of air pressure, kinda like a beebee gun, just about ten times louder?
The first clip, that's the stock supercharger sound for the 03/04 Mustang Cobra's (Terminators) I own one. The second is similar to my kenne bell, but mine is much louder, mines the 2.2, not sure what that car has.
I have two cars that I race regularly, and like it or not, the setup means a lot, driver skill too obviously, but to say setups need to go is nonsense, it's a part of racing. Limiting the setups, maybe, but I can adjust just about every aspect of my cars, so if this sim is to be realistic, the setups should stay as they are, at least to an extent. IMO, my only issue is that, for example, the FXO, is it a stock car, or a heavily modified car that can be modified, if it's not, then you shouldn't be able to make so many adjustments to the car, it should be limited. Where a GTR, you should be able to adjust absolutely everything. Or am I missing something..
Windows 7 is working perfectly for me, no complaints at all. It's fast, light weight, kills XP in performance, so unless MS purposely does something insane I'll be first in line to buy it. Nothing but great experiences so far.
Let me know if any of my images are too big, I can't tell I'm using a large monitor.
I'm sorry I can't can't decide on one car, so I'm gonna post these, and consider carefully, each of these cars I'd love to see in LFS for a very different reason, although I admit only 2 of them would be practical.
Here are my choices, in order of what I'd like to see most. (Honestly I wish I could have my two imports in the sim-not my Cobra tho, of course, it wouldn't be fair, it doesn't have weight reduction and all that, so although it makes plenty more power than the GTR's, and has racing suspension and brakes, it couldn't keep up through the twisties, it's at full weight.
Ford Focus ST
VW R32
RS6
Impractical, would never be in the sim, but how I'd love to see it;
Mustang GTR
Geiger Ford GT
And my two imports I think would rip it up with the XRT, FXO and RB4, prob smoke them actually. But it would be soooo awesome to see my two project cars in the game;
'97 VR6 GTI 278fwhp
Modds - Computer, Procharger @ 8psi, MK4 Head Gasket, FK Silverline suspension, Borla Exhaust, Limited Slip Differential, 10" Racing steering wheel, CAI, full gauge cluster, 18" Konig wheels (black), Pirelli P zero nero's 225/40/ZR18, much much more.
'95 Saab 2.0T 360fwhp
Modds - Abbot Racing Computer, T3/4 Hybrid Turbo @ 22.5psi, electronic boost controller. Full racing suspension, brembo's all around, Saab Sport Exhaust W/ custom downpipe, Limited Slip Differential, Heads ported and polished and bored out, thin head gasket to bump compression, full guage cluster, greddi BOV, much much more
I'd love to race my cars in LFS, they both have fully adjustable racing suspentions, brembo brakes, the works. IMO the Saab could work the FXR no problem, the VR6 maybe, could easily eat the XRT, RB4 and FXO.
Sorry if I posted to much, this is my kinda thread. And don't worry this isn't a willy waving thread, I just think it would be so badass if I could race my VR6 & Saab in this sim and whoop ass!!!
I know the rules are to pick one car, but it's impossible forme to pick one. And then I wanted to post my two imports cause I think they'd be a load of fun to race in LFS.
I own a '95 Saab 2.0T, with a stage 3 turbo @ 22.5psi, custom made intercooler, greddi BOV, and mine sounds nohting like anything I've heard on this site and elswhere, it's like, extremely loud, like a powerful CO2 gun goin off, perhaps louder, when shifting, I guess becaue of the extreme amount of boost I'm running. Is there a way I can get that kind of BOV in LFS, or would it only work in the GTR cars since they're the only ones pushing that much boost? It's hard to describe, uhg... A good exmaple I guess would be, if you had a valve hodling back a lot of psi, and release the valve, it's like a...eh, put it this way, if I shift gears next to someone on a motorcyle, they immediately look down and think they've got blow out, cars too, so I'm careful not to shift next to cars. Also driving down the road if I shift near ppl walking they all freak out thinking I'm firing a CO2 gun at them or something. I'll try to find a sample sound. But if anyone thinks they may hae a sound that's about right, post up, in the meantime I"ll try to find a clip of something the same, or atleast very close.
It's very short, not like many of the sounds on here, that are like, pshhhh, hte sound last maybe a full second and is extremely loud, I guess because of the amount of boost, cause when I get off the throttle at lower rpm, I get more of a chishishishi. But anything over 15psi and it's like an extremely powerful co2 gun, i'd say 10x as powerful a sound.
Thanks for any advice and/or input. Again, I'll try to find a sound to post that matches what I had, wish I had video's of the car.
This sounds very interesting, I'd love to have a go at it. I drive my cobra daily, at least for now, and I'm always using a different cruise speed, trying to get good mileage. I used to think the faster the better, but not so, at 85mph I get 23.5mpg, at 75mph I get 24.2mpg, and at 65mph, I get 26.1... I guess it has to do with the wind, and higher rpm, because regardless which speed I'm at, it takes like, exactly the same % of pedal to maintain speed. I've noticed very very similar behavior in my VW too.
I've recently upgraded my internet service to the best available in my tri-state area, and so I'd like to host races, like, special events and stuff. I dunno much about this, and I'm not even sure if my internet service is even all that great, but I now have a ton of bandwidth, and I barely use it. Actually the reason I upgraded was because I wanted a very fast upload capability for sending files to friends, and to host matches of Quake 4, and a few other games.
I can host anytime from 4pm Est. U.S.A. up to anytime, as late as 4-5am. So for those who'd like to run 16/24 hour events, I can do this as well, as long as I can give admin rights to someone else, while I sleep hehe.
I'm very very lucky, I live less than a mile from my ISP, where the hub is that I connect to, and the best part, there must not be anyone at all using much bandwith on the line I'm connected to, because unlike most people, even friends/family that are local and use the same service, I get 100% of their advertised speeds, where most ppl get only 60-80% of their possible speeds.
So is 15MB down, and 2MB up good for hosting? Because before I had 10MB down, and 800kps up, and I hosted as many as 12 racers before, and everyone pinged very well and had no issues at all. Recently the most I've done is 18 players in the game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, everyone pinged me very well, with no lag at all.
And so, if this is sufficient, I'd like to donate some bandwidth and help with hosting for anyone that's interested, I pay hard earned $ and I'd like to get as much use out of this service as I can. Btw, I had two ppl from europe connected playing the W:ET game, one from germany the other the UK, both pinged at under 100ms, so I feel that LFS may work great.
If it matters, my logical upload is around 250-275kb/sec and 1.75mb/sec down. I ping my ISP at 2-4ms, east coast servers between 10-25ms, west coast around 35-50, and europe(good servers) many below 100, never more than 125, except for bad servers.
Anyone interested post away, or PM. Also anyone that can tell me if this is a good idea, concerning my speed and the performance I should expect, feel free to post opinions, thanks, and I hope to be hosting races. I love this simulator, and I'd be happy to host for anyone.
Edit: Testing using www.Speedtest.net using the NYC server I was able to hit 14664 down and 1983 up. It's a great site for testing your bandwidth, I recommend testing in the morning, afternoon, and very late to see how busy your specific line can get.
There should have been an option to choose "Physics & Community".
#1 here, the physics blew me away, I bought the license within a day of playing the demo, maybe the same day, possibly. I loved it, and the fact that just a few ppl can create something so much better than these larger companies, all-together it makes for a great sim. Hands down the driving is the most realistic of anything else I've come across, and I've waited and waited, and lost lots of $$ buying hopeful games, but nothing was ever quite right.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing. It definitely looks grippier, although it's really hard to judge without actually holding the wheel and touching the throttle and brakes for real. I love the sound!
Looks to be the same size as in LFS, no issue there. I bet a few extra inches in wheelbase would do a world of good also.
Woooo, ppl can use these aids while playing online??? I've never used them, and, if they're available online, well, that seems messed up. Are they? And do they really help? I wouldn't be able to tell because I have hundreds of play time without them, so they'd probably make it harder..
Hmm, I use AVG on 3 machines, two Vista, one XP Pro, and I've had no issues, I even run scans while running LFS, LFS uses very little resources, IMO. It really sounds like a bad driver, or GPU failure. I've had a GPU fail, but still run the desktop, just couldn't run 3D apps. As already said, update drivers, clean out your PC. If that doesn't work, post a dxdiag.
I think LFS is probably a very different experience for those that don't drive irl. I can't imagine the learning curve of using 3 pedals having never driven a real car, and well, I don't think I could ever have gotten any good at LFS if I didn't drive and race irl. It's impossible for me to experience LFS this way, but it seems to me it would be like trying to teach a language to someone that I couldn't speak myself.... if that makes sense to anyone.
Nice to see you here PVoyager, LFS is pretty badass, hope ya take the time to get into it; it's the type of game/sim that ppl will uninstall within hours because it's not like NFS, but the practice is well worth it, the experience is really as good as it gets unless ya race irl.
I was really only frustrating with the wheel4hummer, not really tho, but you, you're a really sick person. I hope you get banned for saying what you say, in fact, if I recall, you've been mocking my posts since I joined this forum. Why can't you let it go? Just stop it. If you knew.....I'll explain, not for you, but for people that are seeing this crap.
Dude what the hell is wrong with you? I had the Saab, GTI, 99GT, and my Explorer ALL before the acciddent, it didn't even make it to deposition, they didn't want to face a jury, I settled within 60 days of the accident, and invested all but 6k into a 2 year CD. You don't know anything, yes I got a lot of money, but none of it was used on the cars, not even the cobra, except the money "did" pay for the kenne bell blower and hte other mods I installed, that I'll admit, but what's wrong with that? I've had 6 surjery's, my medical bills are over 122k dollars, and I'll be on pain killers the rest of my life. **** you man, you're sick for mocking me for being in an accident. It took them 3 1/2 hours to get me out of my mustang, my car was about 75-100 feet from where I had it parked, and the worst part, I didn't just slide to a stop, a utility pole stopped me, the airbag didn't go off, and I got hurt really bad.
You're a really sick person, that's it, I'm done on here, **** this, you're a damn monster man.
This thread will be locked, thanks for ruining a second thread within a few days.

Reason : Some people are so incrediby cruel, I can't understand.
wheel4hummer, I think you're missing the entire point. I want this ignorant rant to stop. I'm not gonna continue in this thread anymore. I admit I'm pretty stupid for even taking part in this, mostly just because I can't understand what's wrong with the post, however now it's become clear. I'm treating this forum as I would a "real" racing forum, where it's all about what you build and drive. I originally wanted to post this, as I do in all racing forums, or participate in others that post these threads, because I love cars, and I love seeing custom work, a lot of people have great imaginations and do some very nice things. Obviously this isn't the place for it, I shouldn't have posted in the first place, since it's technically a simulator site, and not real racing, or again, a "real" racing enthusiast site. I just don't see the harm in seeing what people have and what they've done. There must be at least a few people here that share the passion I do for auto's and motorsports in general, and I wanted to share my work.
I'll be the first to say your typical mustang is "not" a very great handling car, most come with live axles. However when ford recalled all the cobra's in '02, and revealed their plans for the Terminator, I started saving that very week, my very next paycheck. Although, even tho the Terminators ('03/'04 only) have an IRS, they're still nothing compared to an Evo or STI. Generally they're not great handling, although compared to any other mustang, they're incredibly good, except for just one model, the 2000 Cobra R. So my point is, or was, or....well should have been, that I have installed a pretty decent suspension and brakes, with staggered wheels. I have no idea what it would do on a skidpad, I can only hope above .90g.
Mustangs are very much american, and although they're frowned on by many because of particular designs, it's all for a reason, those who buy mustangs, "want" them this way. They want a cheap, fun, simple V8 Pony car, capable of drag racing and taking the beating for a few hundred thousand miles. The Terminator was Fords attempt at a car with more all around racing spirit, and they nailed it. To this day it's the most capable car at it's price point, in American anyways. (There are lots of euro cars that will outhandle for less money, which makes up for the cobra's huge HP advantage) I don't like the '05+ mustangs, I don't like the Shelby's, I'm waiting on the new model to be released, I believe next year, when the GT will finally run low 12's stock, and the Cobra's will be upgraded to more of a sports car standard, like that of a Corvette. Anyways, that's how I feel, and that's why I bought the car. I don't have great credit, but I didn't abuse my savings either, I saved for nearly 5 years, and traded in my Ford Explorer(didnt need a winter vehicle, and refused to put up with fuel costs) and got my Cobra, simple as that. Most people finance, but I had patience, and waited, and saved a ton in interest.
Regardless, I'm done here, I can't take the level of immaturity, a little here and there isn't a problem, but when it hijacks a thread and starts making people look bad, it's too much. You can have the last word, since your willing to fight so hard for it. I don't want to be a part of this nonsense.
I don't know what else to say, and I'm not gonna participate in this kind of thing, I usually won't even respond to this point, arguing on the internet is just absolutely terrible, and I regret I even responded to anything.
I was nearly killed by a drunk driver in a tractor trailer. I was parked in the emergency lane on the highway (for good reason) and a tractor trailer nailed me at 65+MPH. Besides, I didn't use one dime of my lawsuit winnings to purchase my Cobra, I'd already been saving like 4 years, and had a trade. My $ is locked up for school and my son, not that you care to know, but, whatever.
Nice cheap shot, but if it ever happened, I hope it's you I hit, jealous punk. Get a life. Oh, here's what I think about you ppl and your internet habits:
Talk all you want, it only reveals more and more how jealous you are of me, you're pathetic. I worked for years to get what I have, and people like you make me sick, your ego is so sensative you can't handle the fact other people may have something you dont. Material items don't make a person better, in fact, the majority of the time it's material items which own us. However in your case, it's your ego and misplaced hate that control and dictate what you do. Why don't you just let this thread continue as intended, and leave me the hell alone. Can your weak mind find the strenth to just let this go? Or must you continue to antagonize me out of jealousy and envy?
On it's way, couldnt wait for xmas, don't care for it anyways, I'd prefer to have more money at that time for my wife and son.
Anyways, on it's way, should all be here by tomorrow:
QX9650Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 CPU FREE PC Game Bundle - FREE Assassin’s Creed, BX80569QX9650A, 45nm, 3.0GHz, 12MB Cache, 1333MHz FSB, Yorkfield XE, Quad-Core, Retail, Socket 775, Processor with Fan
Don't take my text out of context to score a cheap shot, that was in responce to a guy's comment about my Cobra, which he knew nothing about, besides, it's the truth. I'm from Germany, and spent time in England, honestly, I like most of the cars, and I understand why they're smaller, less powerful. It's about economy and small roads, I was only trying to get under his skin for mocking my car, I just got it, I'm still excited about it and everyone is hatin on me. I seriously think you should all leave me alone, if you can control your ego, you can, if not, then I expect more of the same.
I admit I at times don't take forums very seriously, but this I find frustrating.
People, stop hating on me, what the hell did I do? Cars are a hobby of mine, and over 6 years I've collected each of my favorite, stop hating and get a life. You've already gotten one thread locked, working on another?. The moderators are fed up with this nonsense, and so am I. This behavior is just...sad, but at least I'm not the instigator.

Reason : The hating must stop!
