Mmm, U20 thread or bugs thread? I've never seen anything like this before so I opted for U20. I was informed last night that if you get a 'drive through' or 'stop 'n' go' penalty you are not able to see 'Blue flag' notices until this penalty is cleared. Searched, but found nowt on this.
Doubtless someone will pop up with the relevant post complete with rollicking!

Quote from mrodgers :The truth of the matter is, it's about being a responsible adult and respectful to others. Now, at work, if we had a kick/ban filter for swearing, no one would be left in the plant, LOL. One of my work areas in particular, there is one older lady who works with us. When she is on shift, you won't hear 1 swear word all day. Perhaps someone may slip now and then, but everyone is respectful because they know she doesn't like to hear it.

Think of it this way. Would you talk to your mother or grandmother like that? In order to be respectful towards others, you need to talk to them as you would talk to your own mother or grandmother.

*Sigh* There ya go, talking sense agin. When will you learn?

Moonforce already said what I was going to say but i'll say it anyway. Hotlapping and qualifying are two seperate things. H-L start from the track, qualifying from pit. The fly in the ointment comes with how many pit spaces are there on any given track? A server with 20 plus drivers would present a problem nez pas?

Quote from CSU1 :Hold on! How are you suposed to look behind you with trackIR? turn your head 180 degrees???illepall

You've got mirrors and if you do need to look behind you i.e. before pulling out into traffic, turn your head right round, you know, like in real life!
To be fair it is an acquired taste. Be prepared to work at it and before too long you are no longer aware of turning your head at all. I suspect too many people want an instant result, you know, like in real life!

Now, if I forget to turn TIR on, it's like having your head in a clamp. Nasty!

Quote from Robster230 :Does that involve popping into the options and changing the setting each time or is there a simple setting to match the car that i've not seen.

LFS, clever old thing, does it automatically. Just set your wheel rotation to 900° and wheel turn compensation to 1.0. Personally I use 720° because that is the maximum ingame. I used to have 900° because I thought it was manly. It's not!

Check out out the website. Although it looks CS dominated, it's not. The ethos is the same though, whichever game we play. If you like the look of dMw, sign up to the forum and get the password for when the Dead Men Racing server is private.

If anyone accusses me of not posting a useful or helpful reply I would just like to point out that unlike normal I have not posted 18 paragraphs of diatribe, and therefore, it has been hugely helpful in saving you time reading my endless output.

For which I, for one, thank you.

If by 'mature' you mean fair, clean and sensible, visit the Dead Men Racing forum. Take look at the dMw home page etc. and if you like what you see, register on the forum. When you've done that you will have access to a private server 24/7. We recommend you join Ventrilo as well, it makes all the difference.

Oh, we will NOT be checking your lap times!

I've done GTR and GTL and found them both wanting in the ways outlined in so many posts above. I started to download the demo and was reading this thread at the same time. I got to 21% and thought "What the hell am I doing? It'll be another £35 down the tubes! Stop it!'

Phew! That was close, thanks fellas.

Quote from the_angry_angel :Don't get me wrong it could be done, but it wouldnt be particularly "integrated" so to speak.

I'm not worried as to how 'integrated' it would be as long as it's on the same screen and I can see other racers results as well. (getting greedy now, but I smell an app coming on)

Quote from the_angry_angel :Without using overlays, or LFS being in Windowed Mode, or unless you had 2 screens, I dont think you'd get the effect that you want.

Bummer! I could have sworn, that with all the expertise out there and all the stats that lsf can throw at you, it would have been a breeze. Oh well, perhaps a feature for the future.

Quote from zeugnimod :LFSWorld does that.

Under Online Race Results, if you click on DETAILS for a race, it shows the lap times of every driver, who finished the race.

Yes, I appreciate that, but I would like to see them right after a race and within, the game. But you knew I meant that didn't you?
All lap times?

This thread is all double Dutch to me, so a simple question.:dunce: Is there an InSim program that will let me see a list of all my lap times after a race? A la GTL (OK, I'll wash my mouth out!) It would be great to see if you are consistant throughout a race rather that just your best lap. If there isn't such an app, is it possible to make one?

Is it possible to see this, the results of every lap that is, ingame as per GTL? Be nice if you could.

Thanks for the loan of your screenie MoMo

Quote from mrbogeyman :I like this idea alot. Especially a map rotation scheme. Alot of people moan about there not being enough variation in LFS, but with a map/car rotation scheme then people could have a great selection and a very varied session of races.

Obviously Hotlappers or people who are practicing/learning won't like the constant track and car changing but IMO it would make a nice change.

OT: Come back to LFS then have you doorman?

Im currently MIA with a dodgy ISP so I might have missed you on the servers/

Well, after the GTL servers debacle we thought we'd give LFS a go and decided that we like it! Obviously it's good to take a break.

As far as Race Manager is concerned, I understand that. But I'm asking that it should be integrated into the game. Much less of a faff factor.

Quote from Becky Rose :I think this might work better with a proper server rotation list, like you get with maps in fps games, have the server wait until all cars are finished and then repeat whatever session just took place ... and if a rotation is setup, move to that session or track.

Quite!
