How about a big practice track? Something along the lines of The Complex String from Gran Turismo 3 comes to mind.

I would use the XRR more, if it was not for the horrendous turbo lag! You pretty much have to left foot brake every slow corner, and that can be difficult to do sitting in office chair.

Cute...reading some of the replies, I see that the internet is very much populated by wet liberals....and waiting to see how many will get their noses out of shape for me saying so. BTW, do not take my politics personally.

Isn't that like saying that the sky is blue?

I cannot believe what I am reading! Have you, the citizens in the UK, forgot that in 1940 you got booted out of France, had all of about 12 Spitfires, London was getting firebombed, yet you persevered, Like the UK has had for the past 2,000 years.

I thought that the fine people of the United Kingdom were patriotic! If, God forbid, the UK was attacked, what are you going to do, slouch and mope at the enemy? I do not think so! You would fight like hell, like you did in so many countless wars and invasions.

You are made of better stuff than you think.

Post 904.

Porsche raced the 904 in the early 1960's with great success.

Quote from ans7812 :holy christ. Ban all the cruise servers. There are at least 6. At least 3 of them eat up 10-20 racers EACH. god it is so pointless.

No need to ban them...if it means less people on racing servers, less people who just pull over on lap one and blab away, I am all for it. Or in other words, less of this:

RaCer1!//1 - UR ghey
G25maddskillz - UR ghey
InitialDlesbian - kekekekekeke
RaCer1!//1 - STFU imz faster then u
G25maddskillz - i sprouted my first pube! LOlz!
Unnamed - =))))))))))

I am willing to bet the majority of them on the cruise servers are between the ages of 13-20. And let's face it: some just have the inclination to be social, be it in real life or LFS.

Quote from Bodhidharmazen :

Thats kind of my point with the thread. Where does "realism" begins? How can we measure it?

I think that your answer lies with yourself. I could could go on and on about the merits of LFS, but I am not you, and since everyone is different, one simulator may be better suited to that individual person than another simulator. Compare the two, see which game you like and how it feels to you, and you exclusively, and then decide.

Quote from hiroshima guy :Since you know this stop posting such threads...

Come on rockstar dude. You think to have S2 license is to bully Demo-ers? Come on man, you just a f*g*g*t who doesn't have any sense at all. Why buy a S2? It's senseless to see such people buying S2 to bully Demo-ers. Might as well give it to your sensible friend? You're definitely not fit to be a S2... I don't want to quarrel anymore just let this be my last words here on this RUBBISH AND LAME thread...:bananadea:bananadea:bananadea

I was going to type out something to point some GLARING contradictions, but....nah. Too easy.

I could never have expected to be treated like this as a ''noob'' (I hate that word ) in a simulation such as this.

It is great to become a part of such a community, and fantastic to have been made to feel so welcome.

Many thanks,

Andrew

I guess it is a lot like real life...if you are a person willing to learn, and to listen to more experienced people, you will benefit tenfold. However, there are some who choose not to, be it arrogance or ignorance, and their behavior is reflected by this. And they are treated as such. You chose the latter, and because of it, our whole community benefits.

You will also find that was not an extraordinary occurrence; it just seems that the good is often shadowed by the bad.

Welcome to the community, Andrew! I look forward, as do others, to participating with you online.

Threads like this really affirm the many good facets of our little race sim community.

Quote from bentnewt :I dont know how many people try to use manual when they start. I did and spent a fair amount of time with it but today i tried to use the auto and my times started getting better like atleast 4 seconds better per lap. Its so much easier to drive when all u have to do is figur out the best lines.

Actually, try using the manual option and drive the UF1000 to find the ideal lines. If I was suggest one thing to beginners, it is NOT to start off with the fastest car possible. Everyone learns at a different pace, so try it!

What, are you going to hold down a button for a full 2-3 minutes, so you can listen to a song that you, and only you, can hear??

Dah??

The reason for the LX month is probably 2 fold:

1 - ScaViEr is probably doing this to see if the LX's are popular enough to keep, or to discard for something else. Let's admit it: before LX month, how many of you really care about the LX's? Has your attitude toward them now changed?

2-Like the "Bread and Circuses" ploy the Romans used, I think LX month is here to keep anxious, impatient users occupied while big changes come down from ScaViEr.

Quote from tristancliffe :Most tracks are better than the infield at Indy! I've always like Road America, but it's probably too 'out of date' for F1 these days.

Road America...my home track....that would be wonderful, but yes you are right, it is too out of date.

Laguna Seca is probably the best, IIRC it has long and wide runoffs for Moto GP which is under the FIA, right?

Can you imagine Formula 1 cars going through the corkscrew?!?
