Well, by the look on your face you certainly seem happy with it
It's good news actually, i never realised you could programme such specific commands into LFS, like setting certain fuel percentages. Can you set specific brake balance and camber percentages too ?
Only had a quick flick through the thread and noticed a couple of things.
Firstly i never realised Hyperactive was only 8 years old..
And secondly, i don't think anyones mentioned what i think are the best three films of the decade, Infernal Affairs 1, 2 and 3. If you haven't seen this trilogy then do yourself a favour and get down to Blockbusters forth'with. Trust me it's sooo much better than the DiCaprio remake. So get the full DVD pack, move the fridge and the microwave next to the sofa, and keep an empty bottle close at hand to wee in. Honestly, you'll not wanna move from your seat for the whole of the six hours running time. It's that good
Disclaimer: If you are gonna use the old weeing in a bottle technique make sure it's got a wide neck, or use a funnel, and use some air freshener. Might be a good idea to close the curtains too...
Hmmm i'm getting the impression that David33 is simply playing Devils Advocate here. Lets face it, we all love a good argument, and he sounds like a fairly erudite chap. Surely he doesn't honestly believe everything he's written. Surely even he can see the inconsistencies in the official report. Or am i just being overly optimistic, again ?.
In the mean time you can use a voice control programme such as Pilfius. I'm not sure if you can access the commands in LFS to any great depth. But with a speech to text programme you can have a very simple set of commands such as, pulling up F12 by simply saying "F12", or "Pits", or anything you want really. And change the settings by saying "left" or "right, "up" or "down" etc. It's basically the same as pressing the keys on the keyboard without having to erm, press the keys on the keyboard
It would be even better if we could tap into whichever bit of LFS controls this stuff and programme it so you can say something specific like "change tyres, no fuel, no repair" or "no tyres, fuel 20%, fix damage" and it automatically does it all for you without having to scroll through all the commands.
Dunno to be honest, i think you may have got that the wrong way round.
With todays mass media and this information super highway we're all sitting in right now i don't think the problem is a lack of information. I think it's more of a problem with sorting out the wheat from the chaff, the truth from the bullshit. I think these days we've reached a point of information overload and we've become deluged in a wave of apathy. We all know that our leaders are manipulating us, we all know the new laws they're enforcing are unjust and effect our liberty. We all know they're corrupt and self seeking, but we as a people don't seem to give a shit anymore. Maybe we've become so self centred and insular that the term community spirit has come to refer to a bunch of strangers on the internet chatting frivolously about nothing in particular and taking the piss out of each other. And it's a community of people who will probably never even sit in the same room as each other let alone feel so strongly about a common cause that they organise somesort of protest and actively challenge the law makers.
I guess at the end of the day people are people the world over. And yes, i do see a certain dumbing down of the public spirit, and a resistance to stand up and fight against the injustice we see in our own (real world) communities.
Back when i was a drug fueled socialist hippy student type in the late 80's early 90's i would spend most weekends being chased round the streets of London by a copper sat astride a freaking huge muther f**ker of a horse, due to whichever demo i was on at the time getting a bit violent. Remember the Poll Tax riots ? It may have been irresponsible and got way out of hand, but it made the government and the nation sit up and take notice. And the Poll Tax was dropped shortly after. But now all i see is the population having a bit of a grumble over new legislation then giving a collective shrug of it's shoulders and getting back to it's internet porn or who'll be kicked out of the Big Brother house this week. Ironic, hell yeah.
Maybe it is a ploy by this 'New World Order' to unify all nations and keep the worlds population in a perpetual state of apathy, filled with greed, insecurity, fear and utterly pointless distractions. A point where we know damn well that they're up to no good, but we feel so isolated and ultimately powerless to stop them that they can get away with just about anything. Or maybe they might just push us too far and we do rebel, we do stand up and fight. Maybe we'll reach a point where internal civil war is unavoidable. Very doubtful i know. But if it does ever reach that stage and the majority of the population really have become dangerously stupid, then at least we'll have plenty of cannon fodder to hurl at the enemy.
Erm, on topic, what do i think of America, dunno, never been
Oopsy looks like i was the first one in the thread to spell it with two N's. Perhaps i'm the one to blame for the confusion.
For the uninitiated, don't put too much sway on anything i write, i seldom know what the hell i'm talking about. And only newbies and imbeciles tend to read my posts anyway.
Ugh, what a pillock. Thought Ricco might have had a chance at the GC after his performance the other day, but....
There's no way to tell how many riders are racing clean to be honest. But with the punishments being so lean i guess you can understand why they'd take the risk.
Sad news though and doesn't do the sport much good, but, "better out than in" as they say.
Bah, you wormed your way out of that one didn't you
However, both the Egyptian and the Roman Empires (the Byzantium Empire was essentially an enclave of the Roman Empire) lasted approximately 500yrs. If we strip the British Empire down to it's barebones, we can make an agrument that it all began with the 'unification' of England and Scotland in 1497, which was quickly followed by the addition of Wales and (Northern) Ireland to form the United Kingdom. Which essentially kickstarted the British Empire that lasted in one form or another till the Commonwealth was established in the 1960's or thereabouts. But the United Kingdom is still going strong to this day (apparently) So that's about 500yrs too
Granted i'm stretching history a bit. But neither the timescale of the Roman or Egyptian Empires were that clear cut either.
Comes with the territory though. If you're the most powerful man in the most powerful nation on earth then you'd expect a bit of flack when things start going pear shaped.
And lets face it, the Bush Administration is rather insular and self seeking when it comes to is foreign policy. Just look at which companies are winning all the contracts for the rebuilding of Iraq.
This is only my opinion but i reckon he (George W Bush) is gonna go down in history as the worst American President in history. And thats saying something when you lot have had Carter and Nixon
Not according to Wiki 'the font off all knowledge'. Apparently it's the largest contiguous empire but the second largest overall empire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongolian_Empire
I'm not certain of this, but i have heard of somesort of device type thing that lets you control RC airplanes in a computer games with that sort of controller. Can't remember the name of the game or what equipment you need, but it can be done.
If you really want to try it, then Google is indeed your friend.
Well yeah, that's a fairly self explanatory question, so you've kinda answered yourself already.
And it is essentially what the modern day churches are preaching. "God created all living organisms and programmed into their genetic code the ability to micro-evolve". And then go on to claim macro-evolution is a pile of pants simply because it doesn't fit within a biblical timeframe.
Anyone know what the state of play is with regards to when they'll be handing out the next wave of invites ? I've been signed up with them for an age and a half now and not received one chuffin email from them. Seems like pretty poor customer support if you ask me, and it's starting to p*ss me off to be honest !
As with so many things in life it largely depends on which scale of measurement we use. If it's pure land mass and distance covered globally, then the British Empire wins hands down, thats indisputable. If we use a measurement of social influence, then it's a close run thing between us and the Romans. Although the British Empire was essential an empire of commerce rather then conquest.
Oddly enough i've been looking into this recently, and i've found that if the measurement includes mirrors they always say "including mirrors", and then usually give a measurement without mirrors aswell. If they just give one width measurement it's typically without mirrors. Which is a bit of a pain to be honest, especially with all cars getting bigger these days and garages and parking spaces staying the same size. If you're very very lucky some manufacturers even give a width measurement with the mirrors folded too. But it would be nice if they could give door width measurements to.
