Quote from DragonCommando :As far as the "smile" shaped EQ, most people who don't know will set it like that anyway, and it does have a positive effect in some cases, such as on lower end sound systems. It won't beat a properly set EQ, but if you are not interested in spending the time it can add a little punch to an otherwise dull sound system.

I've used it a few times myself while working with lower end equipment, on garbage speakers that have no hope on earth of ever being equalized properly.

Let's just jump back to your first post in this thread...

Quote from DragonCommando :
If so you want a gradual curve down and then up so that sliders at the ends of the EQ are higher than the center ones. This is true with all EQs too.

Do you know what you're talking about?

Quote from mclarenmatt :Google is making losses on Youtube every year so these ad's are trying to help ease the problem.

However it look's likely some major changes will take place soon, charges may be brought in :/

False.

Youtube is and has always been an ad-supported business model, it's just that the number of adverts needed to offset the cost of video hosting is high. Google don't lose money with Youtube, it's just their profit margins are relatively small.

It's like people complaining about the advertising on Spotify - who the hell do you think pays for the bandwidth and licensing?!

Quote from Chupacabras84 :Plz stop reposting these pictures its doubles the time required for page to dl for me and probably for every user who have images.
I asked b4 but somehow no one of you retards reposting pictures cares
So if you want to say "cool pic" or something, do it like this

This is guide for dummies, real retards who my not know how to say "cool pic" but without reposting it many times.

This effect you can achieve by deleting the from quote.
Mess with url do whatever you want but FFS stop reposting it.
Every freaking previous page could load for me in a few seconds instead of few minutes if not freacking repeating pictures.

The picture only loads once...

Having multiple animated gifs can slow the browser down though. And it's just annoying to see it quoted.

Jesus christ I just typed out a massive reply then the internet went down. Great.

Anyway. As Jamie says, try and going to bed earlier - around 11pm is good (if you are aiming to wake up at 7am). If find if I go to bed at 11 I will get to sleep quickly, but if I stay up working or whatever till 1am etc I won't be able to get to sleep for another couple of hours.

As others have said, try not to do anything too engaging before going to bed. Reading helps, but playing games etc does not.

You could also try muscle relaxation techniques. Contract your muscle groups for 20-30 seconds and then relax them again, start from the feet and work up to the upper body. This can help before sleep.

Alcohol and caffeine are both disruptive to sleep patterns and so shouldn't really be drank before going to bed, although beer may help initially, it shouldn't really be recommended, especially not in the long term!

Or, as Dan says, just bosh one out. That usually works as a cure for most things, including hangovers as it happens

Yeah not having anything to say is the worst. You can tell when it happens as everyone involved gets their phones out and starts messing around with them. In fact that's the only reason I got an iPhone, to have something to do in awkward situations...

Quote from Jakg :My gearbox is weird - I can only get up to around 45-47 in 3rd, so I need to be in 4th....

Can't tell you the RPM as the gauge doesn't work.

What the HELL. That is lowly geared. Even my Fiesta with a really short box will do 65 or something on the clocks in third, and in that thing you can happily shift from 1st to 5th the ratios are so close.

Dude res mats is blindingly easy. As long as you don't do what my mate did when asked to design a computer desk and actually designed a computer, or another guy who when asked to design transport for garden tools that had to be wheeled (a wheelbarrow would suffice), designed one massive great wheel that you put everything inside then push around the garden, then you should be fine.

As Tristan says, they won't be testing your knowledge or garden tools per se, but the materials behind them. Which are pretty much standard manufacturing materials really.

Yeah it seems like a pretty pointless piece of equipment tbh. I guess though if it has a DHCP server etc it can be classified as a router. Presumably then it could be plugged into a switch or similar to serve multiple PCs.

Sorry we've wandered off topic a bit here.

Well for example, Eclipse in the UK offer what they call a '1-port router' with their basic broadband.

One would assume a modem would plug directly into the computer, via USB probably, however it uses an ethernet connection, not really sure what to call it.

Edit: Seems I am sure what to call it lol, a 1-port router is correct.

It could quite easily be a modem and 1-port router...

Umm pretty sure the marginally increased airflow would be picked up by the MAF and fueling adjusted accordingly.

Quote from sam93 :Wonder how much it would be if I was to pay excess of say £750, which I would if it means cheaper insurance lol.

Might help a fair bit. I have a £500 excess I believe which got me the lowest quote.

No it's not worth £50. If you want to make more noise get a drill and put holes in your airbox.

CS:S is the best £10 I've ever spent. I'd quite like to join this BUT:

I exclusively play office
I haven't played for about a year
I will be probably been pissing 4 times that much money down the drain that night

Right two things:

Why can they NEVER find someone who can actually play these games to demo them. It's always a noob pissing about which frankly doesn't demonstrate anything.

And... it looks worse than GRID.

I've had brand new wrapped games before that have both been rattling around the case, and had scratches all around the disc. Probably just a manufacturing fault, as long as it works I wouldn't worry.

Quote from Vain :Why didn't they just offer it as a download with a msi installer? That would've saved me a lot of trouble. Bad game design.

I agree. If it has such specific requirements, why isn't it just a downloadable game?
