Hehe classic. Directly above me on my bookshelf now is the Windows 3.1 User guide, and the MS-DOS 5.0 User guide, still as mint as the day I got them. God knows why they're still on my shelf.
Brilliant pictures. If anyone would like to see more in this style, it's referred to as urban exploration, or 'Urbex' - http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/ is one of the best places to find more pictures and stories of various places.
However if the road is suitable for 60mph, that speed, or around there, should be reached in order to not hold up other traffic - which is what Sunday drivers fail to do.
But on a serious note, in one way or another I agree with the majority of the posts in this thread. I wonder what impact it'll really have on the country.
Oh come on, tell me you aren't eagerly awaiting Crank 2: High Voltage? With the undeniably bulletproof plot: "Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working."
Despite being as popular as it is, Youtube actually makes a relatively small profit. This is disappointing tbh, I often pop on YT to listen through a playlist of new songs I cba to download. That said it's just another site to go through the American VPN I use.
I agree that sounds like a bad choice of speed limit, which is why it needs special attention, not just a blanket 50mph limit everywhere.
A lot of it is down to common sense, there are hundreds if not thousands of roads in the UK where 60mph is too fast, there are probably an equal amount where going faster wouldn't be a problem. Of course common sense is never common.
OK so what classifies as a rural road? Take the A36 from Salisbury to Southampton for example, a road I drive very often. You can guarantee despite being nearly always rammed, that'll be defined as a rural road. It goes through several towns, where 40mph limits are already imposed.
Moreover how often do you see 60mph limits in urban areas? Nearly all main roads in urban areas are restricted to 40 or 50mph anyway.
And finally, most dual carriageway roads have 70mph limits, so obviously aren't affected.
Me too, but then similarly I get mildly pissed off when I slow down and indicate to turn into a road, and a pedestrian just steps out without even looking.
Problem is, as people say here, although pedestrians have right of way, they often don't realise a ton of car hitting them hurts.
Yep would go for a Cobra myself, or an Ultima GTR if you've got £40k knocking about.
I would never buy an unfinished kit either, a kit car is something you really want to build from the start. People who give up half way probably haven't put the effort into build quality anyway.
Track only use would be fine, good luck insuring it on the road though.
Quite how a statistic is comparable to emotion I don't know. I also don't know what percentage of those deaths were caused by people doing 60mph rather than 50, I would presume not many.
Still, doesn't bother me, 99% of the roads I have to drive don't have cameras and are never patrolled by police so it hardly matters if you 30mph or 80mph.
