You are wrong, because the core physics calculations (always at 100 Hz) only takes about 5 % of the CPU power with some more % for multiplayer prediction, ect. The rest are calculations related to the graphics, so limiting the FPS will definatiely cool the CPU.
I'd say there is no difference if you limit it to 60 or let vsync limit it to 60. As far as I know vsync delays your frames a bit (it waints until he next refresh), whithout this option the frames get immediately send to the monitor.
You can try to go to window mode (shift + f4) and open the taskmanager (ctrl + alt + entf) to see how much cpu power lfs eats.
I still cannot understand what information you need for your vibration seat. OutSim (don't confuse it with InSim or OutGauge, these are different interfaces) is used for motion simulators like the 301 and outputs all forces that act on the car. So if you want to simulate g-forces, just take the real g-forces LFS gives you.
Or do you want to fake the g-forces by just taking presets for each surface type? If that's the case I can understand why Scawen doesn't want to support it.
To see the progress, take a look at the changelog here and try the latest patch. The last edit by Scawen was just two days ago, so no need to worry: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=9869
I've added the links to the lfs wiki. Maybe we can ask the websites if we are allowed to copy the whole interviews over to the lfs wiki. So they will still be available in some years from now. http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/About_LFS#Interviews
No dedi server for free, according to some members of the german lfs forum. You have to buy an extra copy of RACE to open a dedi. Looks like race is intended to be single player only. illepall
This weekend the world's first 25h Live for Speed LAN takes place in Haibühl, located deep in the Bavarian Forest. The race starts today (Saturday) at 13:00 German time and runs until tomorrow.
It's probably also the first time, that YOU can watch the race live inside LFS! Thanks to lfs tv we are able to cast the whole race online. The stream is already running right now. You just have to download lfs tv, click on the '25h Race' stream and on 'watch lfs'. Start LFS, open the mpr replay lfstv.mpr and there you are.
