My point was that you said "real", and it isn't.. And no, they didn't pull the engine and cockpit from it either. Yes, it looks alike, but it's still a prototype model made of plastic. The real car didn't even exist when they displayed that yellow thing. And as far as modeling a computer mockup to a live model, just look at the BF1, and the RAC and MRT5... They're probably even better models of the originals.
If I wanted something that was meant for racing, I wouldn't have bought the Del Sol It can still keep up with a lot of "sporty" cars. Besides, the Targa Rooftop is a big plus in the 20+ weather we're having atm.
In fact... That's what I'm putting in my car as we speak... The Hi-Fi setup that I had in my room... I just browse these forums and play LFS on the thing these days, so it really doesn't get used to its potential. It would be much better in the car... Especially because the most beautiful sound in the world (the roar of the engine at higher RPMs) drives you nuts on longer drives.
Mine is definitely not king of anything... I just like the look of the Del Sol, but it's a little too "girly" in stock trim.
The VTEC design of the engine is very specifically chosen by Honda to have a car that can do both economy driving and sporty driving. As long as you stick below 4000 rpm (depends on the type of engine) it's pretty good on fuel economy. Once you drive it a little harder, it goes like mad (could be better, but you do feel it kicking in well) but fuel economy goes out the window.
The airdam looks massive (and it is pretty big) but it's really not that bad when you see the rest of the car. The main reason I chose this one is that it makes the car longer by about 50cm... It follows the curve of the hood and then arcs back, making the whole front bumper look as though it hugs the front wheels, which looks nice. There's a rear bumper as well that sticks out the back giving the illusion of a heavy bump-bar behind it.
Yeah, but doing that is considered unsportsmanlike conduct... It's the same server that you'll get kicked out of when you don't press shift-s within 2 seconds of spinning...
They say "it's dangerous"...
In my opinion being succesful at oval racing you need to have a few qualities:
Being able to stay focussed and calm. Being able to look far ahead and react to crashes in time. Outwit your opponent by faking moves, and dodging his blocks... The last 2 are useless on an FM oval server, which is a shame.
LOL... you know... Funny thing... The yellow one is NOT real... It's a photograph, yes, but that is no car, it's an empty shell, and not even of the real bodywork.
We could call it "metahaci", and pretend it's situated in Finland...
Nobody would be the wiser...
Ofcourse, corner names like Tabac, Piscine, mirabeau would give it a way, but LFS doesn't have cornernames, sooo...
Not just the LPI system... But tracktype rankings as well... Short tracks, medium tracks, long tracks, oval, dirttracks...
The LPI system is too dependant on the drivers you race with. So, I'd just get my team to run a few 10km/h races for a few nights and get a 250+LPI on the long tracks...
True, and that's one of the reasons I don't race the oval in LFS that much... It defies the point of oval racing... Generally, people in LFS that enjoy the oval just wanna go fast and don't care about the racing so much. But it's just an FM server rule, steer clear of them and find yourself one that does care about racing ovals.
And yes, I DO know how to race on an oval, and I did so extensively. Yes, there were wrecks, and yes there was bumpdrafting in NR2003S. And yes, I've won my share of races. LFS is nothing like that, and I prefer NR2003S for ovals any day.
And I asked them so we wouldn't have to force anything... DOSing hardware is often not a good plan, because the timing is going to be a problem, and it would probably have a bad effect on the normal working of the wheel (let's say it does one request every 0.001 second, and you send a led signal every 0.002 seconds, that slows the device down by 50%).
My apologies... It seemed as though you were asking for a ban.
I'm not accepting people who are crackers... I simply ignore their questions (about LFS, that is). And I agree we should act on people who are crackers...
It's just that I think a different approach might be a little more fair to all involved.
It's just a fact that there is a crack for Q (and U will be here shortly, count on it), and people will use it, whether they want to buy it or not.
Just make it a rule to not help demo racers with S2 license questions until they show S2 licensed. And tell them that. Either they go away because they won't get help, or buy a license to get help... That's about all we can do...
They will make only one revision of this wheel, in a single batch...
Which basically means: They'll make enough of them to supply the world with the wheels for an initial launch of a new product, but once they're gone, they're gone. I don't know how many DFPs were sold the first quarter it was released, but I'm guessing this one will have twice that many units made.
You'll be able to get them just fine. Only problem will be: If you want to buy one 3 years from now, they'll be gone... And if it breaks down, you won't automatically get a replacement unit. First they'll try to repair it (since they only have so many units), and if that really fails, you'll get a replacement if available.
